I came across your story while stalking AFF (lol)! But I am very intrigue with your story! So she was raised by her grandfather because her dad was way to young to be able to raise her and now that her grandfather is gone, she has to go back to her biological family, a twisted family. And in their inner circle they stay within the family when intimate relationship comes in so they could keep the blood pure. And her brother won't let her go near any outsider because fear that she will be tainted. And his girlfriend is a total possessive witch!!! All she cares about herself and trying to get claim on Court! I wonder if Julian's brother will be showing later on. I like Allore character despite growing up in less than rich place, she was taught the values of life that her grandfather taught her. I look forward to the next update!

Happy camper to see you post another story! I love chapter 1. I'm curious as to why she was raised with her grandfather, where dad was for thirteen years. Cortland seems like a real ass, but I love your characters that are less than sweet and sugary! I am going to read chapter 2 now and will review it as well. Thanks for the new story!

*Pulling out my southern speak* You could have knocked me down with a feather when I saw you mention Flowers in the Attic! I read that as a kid and loved everything she wrote, well everything she actually wrote and didn't come out after she died. This story drips of VC Andrews but I like it even better. Her poor characters, the main ones anyway were usually so into school that they had lost a lot of that charm of where they were born and raised. It had seemed they were transplanted there with a dictionary in their mouth and an etiquette book in their back pocket, but your character brings the life of a small cabin and simple life with her vocabulary, her thoughts and actions but still retains brains enough to know what theses people are up to! Very well written and likeable characters, or dis-likeable as with Cortland. I can't seem to dislike old daddy dearest yet and don't know why! Well, thanks again for the new story for me to dive into. Much Love!!

Chapter 1
Baby girl I am in awe of you; you have rebounded back in record time but not only a new story but a great new story and 2 chapters to boot! How, where, when to start…hmmm… the simplest yet so important to me: names you have a good ear for names and having them almost describe a character. So many times you have chosen names I myself have loved or I have never heard of and become to love and will only think of you when I hear them? I could go on about what each name means to me but then this would be a review just a love letter of names but suffice to say Eowyn, Julian and Court are well thought out and picked.
I can her Eowyn’s voice clearly not how it sounds how she is and I get such a sense of her person. She’s sheltered but not stupid and she has good instincts. Court is a rich entitled little shit, and I haven’t gotten a clear read on Julian (which is not a bad thing I like a good mystery).
Of course questions arise as I read: why did Granddad say “people stare at me too much”; where is Eowyn’s mother; has Julian always know about Eowyn; and what did Granddad mean about “Your daddy is a strange man…” which brings another one did Granddad know about the Butler Family Moto?
One last thing please don’t apologize or say your stories sucked, they didn’t pan out so what maybe you needed to toy with them to bring you to this new story. And I have nothing but great feeling toward this new Book.

Chapter 2
TWO IN ONE DAY! And in the span of a few hours! We’re going to get fat if you over indulge us! But thank you just the same!
Flowers in the Attic has every young woman read that book (hell even my husband has)? As drawn I was to that book I am far more drawn to you, I feel closer to your writing and that’s is not a put down to the Dollanganger Series.
How screwed up is Court that he matter of factly tell Eowyn of the incest between himself and Julian and I’m sure in his mind he is doing the same with his sister. Why does it not shock or repulse me that Court is sleeping with his own cousin. I wonder how I am going to feel about right now I see him as a selfish fucked up brat (but knowing you there are so many layers).
Julian seemed to take such delight in informing his daughter of her mother’s mental status; he’s the one who got her pregnant so it says more about him than her. Julian is like a gravitational pull I don’t know how but he’s pulled me in. There is a balancing acting going on he’s a bit cruel but also a bit kind. He cares for Eowyn but is as a daughter as a lover most likely both (again balance).
The last line was so sad, get so caught up in the this new world she’s been placed in I almost forgot the great pain she must be in being ripped away from everything she has ever know.
