Your= possesive
You're= You are
The next time you think you need to use "you're" replace it with "your are" in the sentence and see if it works. If it doesn't, it's "your".

It's really good writing, I'm just unhappy about it because of my own experiences as a jealous pet. Haha.. Still, it's well written, and I like the way you used a 2nd person pov to heighten your readers' reactions. Keep writing!
