Hurrah, a new chapter! Look like the shit is going to hit the fan now...
I wonder what Alex want to talk about with Paul. Hmm...But obviously he learned how to use the leverage :-) and brought Blane back to hes work. Hopefully in time to safe Jaime's life.

I just about let out a squeal when I saw there was a new chapter. This chapter makes me even more anxious to read more than ever. Blaine's finally getting his funding (if he checks his voicemail and replies to his emails)...Ezra's gonna find out about Jaime...and just what is Alex doing with that number??? I just want to read mooooore.

I like how informative Troy was with Alex there. And his warning of not losing himself along the line. Very informative, indeed.

Chapter 44: Ah, finally Alex found a way to keep Blane on a leash. You he just has to figure out how to use it.
Chapter 45: Poor Troy. I agree with Alex. He must be at very least a B, if not more. And I'm sure that that unnamed Alpha (I suppose it's the same Alpha psychologist who spoke with Alex at Esra's party) must have realized that too. Only because Troy is mute, he's decided to to a C. But well, if his muteness is only caused by the scars on his vocal cords, then Blane's drug should be able to cure him.
And Blane should care for Jaime's health instead of getting involved in another project.
Well, in both cases, Alex should make use of the leverage he figured out a chapter before.

The best aspect of this story is how simple and straightforward your writing is- but what's happening and what they mean is not simple at all. Like a minimalistic epic poem, dry, but witty and straining with tension. Love it.

Glad you updated! I am a bit confused on this, the letter that Alex read, said that the weakest shall be selected to live if they are twins but at the end of chapter 43, Daniel says that he wants Erza to kill the weakest in the womb..Just wanted to point it out. Love the story so far but I wish you could went into the fight from the last chapter!
