I also adore this story and check daily for updates. The characters are beautifully developed and the reader really gets a feel for the time and setting. The story is emotional, engaging and utterly addictive. My fingers are crossed that Jesse gets a happy ending. I hope all is well with you. Best wishes.

I love this story! I watched an older mini-series on AMC I think awhile ago called Lonesome Dove and there was a former Texas Ranger called Gus who kept using the word "Poke" to Lori a young prostitute whom he later saved from an Indian.
