omg i am mad at bose. what a selfish man
i'm glad jessie is sticking up for himself. what if bose died during one of his robberies? Where would that leave jessie? homeless and without a means to support himself.

i hope jessie stays at the ranch. i'm rooting for him to.

This story gives a whole new meaning to "Cowpoke!" or alas how about a second pun? "Outed Outlaw!" Sorry couldn't resist the awful puns. Their my problem! Most certainly there are no problems with this story it is great and extremely envolving. Your characters are absolutely glorous,I can't wait to see what they'll do next, especially you're rich city-slicker and plant-lover, something tells me there is more to him than meets eye, maybe a touch of the dark and diabolic. And I think the badass outlaw is not the badess of them all, after all!
Hurry write more, can't wait to read more. Gslinger, alway shooting from the hip!

I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. My mom told me stories of her riding a horse to school. Grew up with cowboys and cattle as neighbors. The wild west genre has never, ever appealed to me. Wasn't ever exotic in any way.
And then I read this story. And WOW! Now I can't help but look at everything different! You have written tale so beautifully! The everyday scenery I grew up in some how seems so cool now. The endless dust somehow so much more a part of the 'atmosphere' I love how clearly Jessie thinks vs the choppy way he and Bose talk, love it! You have a great handle of details and a deal of incredible tension is this tale. I, for one, can barely wait for the next bit! I wish you luck with it! And the best of luck with all the rest of your life as well! Thank you!!

First of all, on the issue of the rape: I really have no idea why the rape in this story doesn't upset me as much as in other stories. It has to do with the psychology of the attacker, Bose, I think. It is both interesting and terrifying to consider where his mind is at, and the purpose behind the attack. I think the difference, God help me with this disturbing analysis, is that he is not (in his way of thinking) raping Jessie for the sake of cruelty only. Yes, is establishing dominance, but for many attackers that is not an act of cruelty, so much as it is a necessity. He chooses to redeem himself by seeing himself as being in love with Jessie or possibly being a potentially good mate for Jessie. Getting his victim to buy this line of thought will take a large show of dominance or threatening.
No, rape cannot be devalued or softened to make it into a kind act. But the question is, will the victim ever forgive the action?
I will leave another review on this chapter later. Right now, Goodnight.
