(1) I loved the imagery of that first paragraph, it certainly set a scene :) It's definitely an interesting start, I'm looking forward to reading more :)

Hmm.... An intriguing start. Dark, but you wrote it well. Didn't bog it down in currently unnecessary details, which I appreciate; that can be hard to do.
