"not widely read" i just dont get why... this is freaking incredibly well written. there is yummy smex and yummy plot. i love the way you so skilfully play around with the sequence of events. and the characters are realistic and gorgeous. but i hate richard already with such a passion!! i really hate him for being like that.

as for daniel and ian i just want them to be together happily ever after lol

Fuck motherfucking Richard, that cock blocking sonofabitch! Excuse the language but if Daniel gets taken in by Richard, whose obviously a slimy bastard, I'm gonna be so upset with him. I hope Ian shows up with his gorgeous self and abundant confidence and just rips Richie-boy a new asshole. That would make my week. On a more positive note: awesome new chapter. I just...I can't properly express how much I love the dynamic between Ian and Daniel; it's amusing, deep, and realistic. I love that you're not rushing this story and that everything's happening at a believable pace. Just, well done. Well done. Looking forward to your next update.

Side-note: I, also, quite love Rorschach Blots and Practice Mate and eventually I will get around to reviewing those but until that point I just wanted to lay down some lovin' for those great stories, too.

I really like how this is going so far. It's very intersting to see these two interact with each other and negotiate. I can't wait for an update to see what's going to happen next

ok liking this one too! interesting how you did the first chapter and then revisited the past in the second--it's definitely different but in worked in this case. also really liking the characters because daniel is def a sub with an attitude and ian also seems to have flickers (very small flicker tho, haha) of uncertainty when he feels he is pushing daniel too hard. so yea really like these characters and excited to see where this goes!

I like this, I do. Ian and Daniel have very distinct characters which is nice because I feel like in a lot of slash fiction, especially dealing with any BDSM themes, the characters are all very stereotypical or extremely unbelievable. It's a little hard for me to say I like the couple as it stands right now because I get mixed signals from Daniel as to whether he likes any of this at all. I think the bit about it being a "deal" and about a raise is intriguing and I wonder how that's going to play out. Right now Daniel seems more resigned to his fate than anything else and I wonder if that will change in time and he will come to either like Ian and/or like his role in a BDSM relationship. The bit about the paddles and whips had me excited for the future smut that will happen, no lie. All in all I think you've done an extremely good job setting up the character, the conflict, the smut potential, and the relationship in a way that makes me wanna see where it goes. Great first chapter.

I love this! it is so much more then the usual awful dom/sub stuff that i read on this site... there is so much complexity to these characters and to their relationship. and the way you are telling this story, the way you jump around with time and pace makes the telling so interesting and so compelling. I love it! I feel like i am in the hands of a really talented writer and it is a god feeling! thank you for the time, effort and sharing of this story! and the smex is hot! and so is the kink!!!!!!! I'm reviewing again despite being a piss poor reader and not doing it at all usually because I really want you to know you have at least one avid reader who would be quite devastated if this story was put on hold or taken down. I've become very frustrated of late to find good fics, especially of the BDSM variety, that have any character depth/development and/or an interesting, engaging plot; I feel that I've weeded through all the ones I like and now come to this site mostly to check old stories I keep up with and hope to find an amazing new story like yours! I agree with Nine in that they have a very unusual relationship compared to what's normally seen on this site and that is SO compelling and interesting. I love that Ian seems so confident and then is taken down a notch by Daniel, who is so insecure but has a surprise backbone every now and then. I, too, like the time lapses and the backward-forward jumps you make in your story telling, it adds background as well as building tension for the reader whose left trying to figure out how this all began and how it will end. You a hell of a writer and this is a hell of a story and I really can't wait for the next chapter.
