wow i am a blithering mess of awwwwwwwwwww after reading that... that was so impossibly sweet and so freaking skillfully written. it is as if each chapter your writing gets better. that was just so beautiful to read. but lol at the same time i was freaking out that rain's mum would walk in on them. i love this so much and i dont want it to end ever. seriously. i could keep reading this until i the day i die.
and wow! reveal about salem... and yet i am no closer to understanding anything... all you ever give us are moments that make us think of all kinds of things but i know i never feel confident in forming any theory. so amazing. i love you.

Kami I really just don't like Salem and what he's doing too Rain! I'm sorry, but that's just how I feel about it. I wonder what's gonna happen next? Damn Salem's libido just knows no end! (O_O)

You would think Salem's Aunt would see something wrong or he doesn't seem to be getting any better. If I were her I would really start to question that therapist of his. And wow Salem didn't talk to ANYONE for almost five years, why didn't the Aunt notice that her nephew wasn't speaking to her at all over those years?!

Damn. That was kinda crazy, I think I'm feeling sorry for Rain's, uh, netheregions. Good Chapter, I was sort of expecting Rain's mom to walk in on them at some point. When's the proverbial 'other shoe' going to drop?

I get where you're going with trying to develop Salem and with giving his relationship with Rain a slightly healthier tun, but at the same time, it almost feels a little rushed. It's as if in the past two chapters you've been showing us "another side of Salem" that was supposedly there were along; except if it was indeed there and as strong as now, why did we truly not glimpse it nearly at all? And if something triggered an abrupt change in Salem's behaviour, what was the momentous feat? I'm not trying to bash your choice for the evolution of their romance at all, I think it's necessary for Rain and Salem and their feelings to mature - I guess I just feel as if this could have been done a bit more gradually.

I loved this chapter.
At the beginning we got to see the gentleness and caring he has for Rain. And then he opened up to him and actually answered Rain about his life.
I'm just trying to wrap my head around the fact that he doesn't eat. How could that be? He must eat for his aunt, otherwise he'd be hooked up to a feeding tube in the hospital.
And Rain is the only person he chooses to speak to. Why is that? His selective mutism is only hurting himself. I'm assuming he's been in the residential facility and to therapy as a result of his parents' deaths. By not talking to the therapist how could he get better? Or does he think "hanging out" with Rain and controlling him is his therapy? I'm also figuring that his parents died about five years ago? When he stopped speaking?
Although now that I think about it, his parents dying naturally was out of his control(I'm hoping). He also had no control over being sent to the residential facility or even his aunt's house to live. What he DOES have control over is who he chooses to speak to and of course his "relationship" with Rain. He needs to feel some sense of control over his life since everything else is out of his control. Well, that's my stupid psych 101. lol
Selective mutism can be very tough to live with. It must frustrate and sadden his aunt that he won't talk to her.
Anyway, awesome chapter and I'm always wanting more! =)

well written chapter, much more expressive. i like how humorous he is when resigned to his fate with salem. I like the direction this is taking, i wasn't sure about it at first, and even though i kept reading every new update i was also ready to give up on it but you've cleverly snuck up on me and gone there.... where i'm now looking forward to each update. I'm even reviewing!

It's come to my attention that I should review more, so here goes. I did not read original version and I don't want to from your comments. However I eagerly wait for Loving Salem and squeal in the most unattractive way when I see an update. This is by far one of my favorite stories on AFF, it's up there with Waiting in the Throes in my opinion, which has a ton of desperate fans and is exquisitely written. Your writing style is very, very good and I absolutely love Rain, especially when he gets fiesty! I hope to see more of your writing in the future!
