I already love this Bairn.
I would be close to my king, huh?
cool.

I also hav eno idea where are you going with this sotry..but it's good to read so far.
Like I said background is very important for development of plot and introducing sex scenes.

So far it's a very good read. I don't feel like its going in circles in any way, more like its taking it's time and the characters are going back to questions to try to convince the other of what he wants.
I get the feeling of the king that he is keeping the old king awake and tired for a reason. To keep him placant or weak, I don't know. But he knows the old king is dead tired, that type of tiredness you can't hide, he even commented on him being tired in the hall of flags, but still dragged him along for more talking.

I'm kind of curious what the sleeping arrangements will be that night. I'm getting a lot of sexual tension from the king that the old king doesn't quite know what to do with or hasn't quite identified, hard to know with him so tired. If the old king sleeps by himself, then he is kind of isolated and still gain some independence, but if the king forces him to sleep in the same bed as him, then he's sett the tone a bit. Perhaps that's why he's keeping the old king so tired, so that he will not care, as long as he gets to sleep.
I know, odd thing to focus on, but once the idea got into my head....

The king feels like he is very intelligent and has it all planned out from the beginning. Feels like he has a twisted part of his personality but only when provoked. His men seam loyal and behind him, and I have a hard time thinking they would do so if the twisted part of his personality that had him killing and mutilating his siblings was to pronounced.

Anyway, I enjoyed the read and look forward to more chapters!

I hate men like Dün-Held. They make me angry. I don't care that he likes Yüsek. His way of getting what he wants pisses me off. Not the war part, but his actions and words with Yüsek. I feel sorry for Yüsek. I almost don't want to keep reading, because I can already start forming predictions. But in a way I want to read more to see what happens. It's not a bad story or poor writing- no no no. I just dislike character relationships like this one. I hope Yüsek makes Dün-Held miserable and wait for a very long time.

Wow, this is the reason I still open AFF every now and then checking what's new, because among many average stories there're sometimes gems like this one.
I so love dark and dangerous, mysterious characters! Also your writing style is enticing/seductive, if it's possible to describe it in this manner. To me it feels like smoke slowly, in a seductive manner, rolling aronud me and bathing me in images, clear pictures of this new world. Can't wait for more :D

Right now I see Dün-Seçen as obsessed, but driven and self aware of his own faults. I also see him as composed, but easily undone when it comes to Yüsek, i can easily see him becoming unhinged if it came to Yusek. Yet somehow Dün-Seçen seems aware of all of his crazy and is able to use it to his advantage. =)

You have my enraptured attention! You mentioned something about how you should be trying for clarity over style well thats fine but your style of writing is so lovely to read! the heavy honour/nobility of yusek and his point of view is just so addictively satisfying. I love Dun Secun's character and the options ou list for him seem so exciting! i can't wait to see where you go with him!
I was a little confused by the last moment of this chapter... what exactly did the new king mean when he asked Yusek to swear his loyalty to him in private... i know what my yaoi-brain thinks it means... but i am wondering whether i am wrong and dun secun (at this stage at least) was really only asking for a real vow of loyalty, not just the empty words he mouthed before the court...

and Bairn... i really can not wait to meet him!! he sounds very, very cool!

I was so happy to see this one updated! such a good start to Friday!

i kind of said it before but i'll say it again more clearly... i love the setting for this story! battle, armour, weapons, war council, kings etc... all of it is oh so lovely!
