Intriguing story involving some ancient rituals, religion and a mysterious artefact(s) - what can be better, not to mention eroticism :)
It's pity there was no preface or any background info about the storyteller, the factual description of the item in question comes later - i'm not sure if it's to better, as you come quickly to the gist of the story, or worse? "One such object is a certain bronze Kantharos- an ancient Greek drinking vessel. The fantastical tales I am about to recount concern this vessel. " - I think such beginning is a bit hurried, no? And are these tales really "fantastic" if they're backed up by some evidence? Very interesting.
I wonder what made Kassandra forget about her family's prohibitions - why did she *have to* become a maenad?
Good luck with your writing and the story. Hope the reasons for that "madness", fantastic or not, can be guessed/
