And as for the chapter itself, the fact that Paulie is no longer able to pull himself out of the programs, even with Finn's instructions, is quite troubling. I'm in a constant state of worry over him, ha ha.

finally! im here again. gosh been having connection to the site problems.
pauline and finn is so confused right now.
they're like dancing around the glitches and trying not to freak the program out.
i wonder what else they'll have to sort out together, besides glitches, things like feelings of a certain AI... wooooooo....
looking forward to your next update! i'll keep a look out for your email alert ;)

I just about startled myself to death seeing the Stardust update this morning. Stardust is one of the few stories I actually have saved as a bookmark to re-read until updates arrive. To be honest, I squealed with joy. XD

RL chaos always hits at random times to everyone, you sholdn't appologize for things that are out of your hands. As a reader, I'm just absolutely thrilled to see another chapter. As a fellow (if horrendous) author, I've had plenty of RL chaos myself. I would say a good half of your readers are probably writers too, so to toss the 'first stone' would be like calling the kettle black, in my opinion.

Goodness, that has to be one of the longest intros to any review I've probably ever left you. In 'reader' mode, I tend to just squeal and spazz in reviews.

Anyway, on to the actual riview-

--

The phrases of the day are:

"You know," he grouched, getting up; "-when I got myself a robot, I didn't expect him to end up questioning my personality."

"Yeah, well." Paulie fished a sock from somewhere with his toes and kicked it across the room. "Shit happens."

-Lordy, but I just about died laughing reading that. Especially Paulie's little retort. I just about loved everything about that scene.

Finn is such a precious thing, trying his best to handle all of Paulie's 'glitches' in his own way.

--

"The head on his shoulder seemed to get a little heavier after a while, the breath on his neck a little more even, and Finn sat and held the boy and didn't move, reluctant to bother him, because who knew where the guy was going to wake up? Too few of his roleplays were happy ones."

-That part, along with everytime Finn contemplates about it, almost made me cry. I mean, I'm glad and relieved to see Finn's constant concern for Paulie, but as a reader, I feel ten times more concerned for Paulie. Precious, precious Paulie...we just want you to be happy and NOT literally fall to pieces and short-circuit in an android version of death because of it.

--

"He 'liked' this feeling; this belonging somewhere, to someone. Being part of something. Was it the same for Finn, maybe, had Paulie become a part of the entity Finn thought of as 'home'? That was a nice thought. Having a home, and being one, too.

It made him sad that he was going to lose it."

-Nooooooo, what do you mean by 'going to lose it'??? Paulie, what are you not telling us? I can't even...don't do this to us, Paulie. ;-;

--

As usual, the more I read, the more I want to tell Paulie that he's totally allowed to keep Finn all to himself...that, just because Finn bought him, doesn't mean that Finn doesn't belong to him just as much. You have a right to be happy, Paulie, dang it. Nothing better happen to you. ;-;

I really like your story, the idea reminds me of Asimov, just with an erotic twist:)

I really love your story. I appreciate how it reflects on so many topics and really causes one to think about feelings ... where they come from and why.
Sorry about your personal troubles. Maybe this writing can be somehow theraputic for you.
Hang in there.

This new chapter, so long awaited, did not fail to please. Indeed, it seemed to have an undercurrent of frustration, a wistfulness that makes Paulie's dilemma more real to us. A new, and rich exploration of Paulie's evolving person-ality, with a surprise twist in its ending; a cliff hanger of sorts that has me all seething with speculations about the next chapter.

Sorry to hear that. It sucks, especially the relationship issue. Take as much time as needed. At least you updated considering us ungrateful readers were probably bitching.

Not me though.

I'm waiting for the whole "Paulie is coherent," reveal. Like how the hell are they going to deal with that? Will the company find out and it gets all techno Fifth Element, Total recall like?

I love it how Paulie is slowly developing from machine to something else. =)
I was sorry to read about your personal situation. It's always painful to end a relationship no matter how bad or expected. Hmm, just wanted to let you know you're not alone and that you're in my thoughts/prayers. Just try to push through, but take your time. Everything happens for a reason. That's what I have learned. The best of luck and strength for you.
