Yep, makes total sense now. Wow, he engraved himself into the tissue, that's crazy. And so long as they don't start any other scenes, he should be set! At least, we certainly hope so. It's awful that Paulie was able to go back and see Finn's suffering and how his memory-less self was treated. But, at the same time, it just shows just how much he meant to Finn.
'Paulie had been able to pay attention to nothing but HIS sensations and to Finn and how it DIDN'T seem mundane at all.' - He's so sentient, Paulie. It was his downfall and his rebirth.
SUCH a good read, this entire story. I loved it, and I can't wait for the epilogue!! Super happy at the very PROSPECT of an epilogue with these two lovely boys. Thanks so much for sharing.
I love this story and felt like you did a great job with the format. Paulie was interesting and I loved watching him develop as a person. I literally cried when he was deleted. I'm so glad things worked out.
BTW I understand the significance of Paulie saying "I love you," and fidgeting.
Ok...first of all, I was out of town when you updated and I just got back in and it's 1:47AM, but I read the new chaps anyway cause there was no way I could wait until a more reasonable (human) hour!!!
Secondly, the chapter you pulled out could have been left in. Though we wouldn't have agreed with Finn's moment of vengeance, it was good to see just how hard the guy's taking the whole reboot situation. He was really frustrated with the programming, not Paulie himself. And he may have taken it out on him during that scene, but he did feel remorse immediately afterwards! Some readers might not see that as an excuse, but we're all human and sometimes intensely frustrating emotions get the better of us and we act in ways we shouldn't, so they should cut Finn a tiny break. Anyway, you could have totally posted it along with the chapter you did post.
Thirdly, though Finn found some of it funny, I thought that the whole 'clueless virgin maid' scene was hot as hell. But, then again, I have a fetish for dresses/long shirts/skirts without underwear in general so I'm not sure if my opinion counts, ha ha ha.
Now, I'm not sure if Paulie was gradually getting there as they ran scene after scene (he was able to differentiate the program's version of cleaning to his own, after all)...or if the package that arrived from the mailman had anything to do with it...but, for him to have fought such direct suggestions from Finn in order to fidget in front of him and confess that he loved him too means that he's either starting to glitch again or is at least partially himself again!
Unless, of course, this new version of Paulie somehow fell for Finn in his own new way...which wouldn't exactly be terrible, when you think about it. Starting anew together is still far better than suffering strict and dry programming. In any case, I just want to read more and find out! Please please please try to squeeze another update in over the holidays if you can. And, as always, many many many thanks for the current update!

I've been reading this for a few years now and this is the first time I decided to leave a review. This fic has left me hurt. Not as hurt as poor Finn though. Just reading the last paragraph of the latest chapter had me clutching my chest in pain. I'll be waiting for how ever long it takes for the next chapter. Good luck with your business!
