I'd be really interested to see how the rest of this plays out, and some backstory, too. I think it'd be cool to read. I think it has a lot of potential to be a good, long-ish story. Hopefully it comes to fruition, yeah?

definitly worth fleshing out the story! um...don't worry about the shadow stuff it wasn't to freaky and it was well written.

That was awesome. I really liked both the characters. It has a lot of promise and I hope you go further with it; or just visit them again. If not it makes a good short story.

I think you've got a pretty good set up for a fuller story, so you should go for it if you like. I enjoyed this short.

Thanks for the update! Please do continue. I really like these two characters. I'd love to read more about Emmit and Shield and how their relationship progresses (*fingerscrossed* hoping they stay together). The plot is interesting and this story has potential to be developed further. Would really love to read more. Just wanted to give my two cents.

Hey, this story didnt sound interesting in the synopsis but boy am i glad to have checked it out. the writing is superb, and the storyline is brilliant! I love the discussions on creatures of darkness in Chap 1, and Chap 2 didnt disappoint as it shows the difficulties involved in making choices (at least on Shield's part).

Curious to know who or what could his enemies be, esp if they are from his world. Other demons? Vampires and so on? Emitt is so sweet, though he has a rather sad past... it's nice that he met Shield who gave meaning to his otherwise meaningless life, yeah ;)

So yes, I agree with the other reviewer. Write more, please! =D

ps: Maybe 'child of darkness' got misinterpreted by ppl as harmless little things, e.g.toyol, imps, small trolls and such hence the lack of readers? i, for instance, assumed that until i checked out the reviews where people said your story rocks which piqued my interest, and then i gave it a shot. and boy am i glad i did! xDDD
