(1) Glad to see you writing again although I will admit that it did take me till about halfway through the chapter to connect this penname with your other one *headdesk* it's been a long day, it's my only excuse ;) I'm certainly interested by the setting and how that's going to affect things, if we thought prejudice was bad a couple of decades ago I could only imagine just how bad it would have been in the twenties. It would have been considered such a terrible thing and at the same time it probably wouldn't have even been on most peoples radar. I have to admit to not being that familiar with the twenties beyond what you mentioned in your summary, I keep thinking of noir but noir is usually associated with the forties/fifties but I'm looking forward to what kind of atmosphere your going to set up for them. I would think this is going to take a bit of research on your part and not just with what they are going through now but also each guy's history since they seem to have taken rather different paths in their lives. Can't wait for more :)

Hey, do you write under the name Bean Montag too? I really wish you could find the time to get back to your WIP stories under that pen name.

Anyway, this new story has caught my interest. So, Cole is a veteran during WWI? Did he serve after he met Rick the year previous but was injured so now is a reporter? I am sorry it kind of confused me a bit. I am sure more will be explained as story progesses.

Your summary tugged me in, and I'm glad it did. :) You've built up some wonderful backgroud between the two characters. I hope to see what developes soon!
