Brody doesn't need River blaming him for Forrest's death; he's blaming himself enough for the both of them. No matter what he tells Sam, he does blame himself. Is his "seeing dead people" in his subconscious; sort of like he's connecting to his brother on some weird level? Did his seeing dead people happen after his brother died? Or is it just his overwhelming guilt that's making him THINK he's seeing dead people?

He really needs therapy and Prozac. Lots and lots of Prozac. But seriously, he does need to talk to someone; his depression may only get worse and Matt's not going to be prepared to handle Brody's sadness.

Does Matt know about Forrest? And Brody's dead people sightings?

Love it! Lots of plot and a little romance on the side ;)
By the way, loving how this story is in second person - switches things up a little bit ;)

God this is so sad. Boy the story really took a turn. So what's this paranormal stuff going on? Is Brody really losing touch with reality? What's this spell stuff he was talking about?

I'm so intrigued and worried about him; he seems to be on a downward spiral.

i like this a lot so far. the second-person point of view really helps in producing a more detached, dreamlike, unsettling tone, which i think matches the atmosphere and the setting. introducing both sam and matthew as potential "love interests" makes a neat dynamic, and the inclusion of the ghostlike figure adds to that interest.

anyway, i'm looking forward to reading more!

Wow, this is good! I'm hooked! What's going on with Brody? Is he imagining people? Why is he screwing around w/Sam if he's into Matt?
