Hey Trista! You made me laugh with your author's notes! lol

Yes, Maxx has it bad for Jase. And I know Jase feels the same way. That was a beautiful first time for Maxx and it's funny how it brought that memory to the surface when he was only seven.

I have a feeling when whichever doctor is supposed to be 'supervising' them, will be able to tell just by looking at the two of them how they feel about one another.

Ok, so the 1850's police is back! Sorry! I don't remember everything I said in previous reviews, but I know boxers were mentioned. They were called drawers I think. And the word 'hard' to describe an erection, I don't think they would think of it that way. Maybe 'he felt himself becoming aroused', something like that? And I KNOW the phrase 'stressed out' was not used back then. lol Oh, and when Maxx took out his paper, pens and pencils, did they even use pens back then, or did they still use quills and ink? Oh, last one: when Maxx stated to Jase that Jase wanted to have sex with him, I know they didn't use the word sex. Maybe 'have relations', or even 'intercourse'.

Ok, the 1850's police is retiring for the evening. hahah

Awesome chapter Trista! They definitely have it bad for each other. :)

Hey Trista! I think I missed a chapter! Now I have two to catch up on! But I wanted to respond to your A/N. I was laughing that you thought I was serious about Judy not cooking Maxx dinner after he came home from a hard day at the office. lol I didn't realize they had a cook. Wish I did. I guess I'm kind of traditional that way; my mom made dinner every night for my dad, sister and I. And I made dinner every night for my soon-to-be-ex even before we had kids, and especially afterwards. I'd come home from work and cook dinner for us. So that's why I thought it was odd that Maxx comes home after working all day, finds his wife in the kitchen and then he heads off to bed. All I thought was, "Don't these people eat dinner?" lol So I wanted to comment on that, b/c I know that I'd forget after reading two chapters!

Ok, on to the story....

Chapter ten: very interesting events that occured! lol

It was very sad to read about Maxx's sister. I can imagine that Maxx wanted to somehow avenge her death, so to speak, so he became a doctor in a mental facility. I can think that he wants to help all the patients in there, and maybe in doing so, feel less guilty about Lydia. What happened to Lydia was horrible, but I'm sure it wasn't an isolated incident back then.

And Jase, wow! lol How bold of him, but at least it put Maxx back in a better mood! ;)

Ok, so here I am, the 1850's police. And I'm only pointing these out to you b/c number one: I'm a pain in the ass and number two: I just want it to be true to the era you're writing about. I Googled underwear men wore in the 1850's and came out with "drawers", not boxers. There were a few red flags besides boxers: I'm almost positive they didn't use the term, "get him off" back then, lol, and of course the words "come, came", definitely not. Turning him on, I think they would use the term aroused instead, and the best head, nah I don't think they'd call it head. Not even a bj. Not sure but almost positive. lol And lastly, I'd bet my youngest son that the word "dick" didn't exist except for a nickname for a guy named Richard. lol

Ok, sorry Trista. I know I'm a pain in the butt and it's only a fictional story, but the setting of the story, the era, etc. is what sets it apart from the other stories on here. So it should sound different too.

Alright, I'm shutting up now. Only b/c I have to go on to chapter eleven. :)

I like that Maxx didn't include Judy on his list of his most important things. lol

I think it makes perfect sense to take Jase out of the hospital and into the real world. I think bringing Jase to a more familiar environment may make him open up more. Maybe he'll be more comfortable. I'm actually surprised the old, stuffy doctors went for it. And w/o all the technology we have today, how would Maxx and Jase be watched? How would one of the doctors do this?

And one stupid question: don't worry; it has NOTHING to do with semantics of he 1850's. lol When Maxx was blowing Jase, and Jase "was more turned on than he could ever remember", why wasn't he hard? I know, during all this hot b/j sex, all I'm thinking of, "Why wasn't that dude hard yet???" lol

Awesome chapter as usual Trista! :)

Wait, Judy didn't even cook dinner? She's in the kitchen w/her sister and didn't even make Maxx dinner? And Maxx is too trusting; how does he know the baby is his? She could have made a mistake, and he could be bringing up someone else's baby. And wait, don't the townsfolk think Judy's a whore; a tainted woman? She should go around with a big "S" painted on her forehead. A woman cheating on her man; that wasn't looked at kindly in those days.

Now your use of the word 'stud' bothered me b/c I'm pretty sure they didn't use it like that back then. Of course I Googled it and even looked in the Urban Dictionary, but I couldn't find when the word originated. So I guess I'll give it to you....lol

Another awesome chapter! Maxx is realizing that he may be like Jason. But if he really thought rationally about it, if his higher ups thought he was like Jason, they would have him committed also, right? I really love how Maxx is getting closer to Jason without freaking out so much about it.

Looking forward to the next chapter! :)

great new chapters!!! can't wait to see what happens next! the thing about dr. borden's wife's infidelity was shocking...nice little twist there! It's refreshing that Maxx had "manned up" and accepted things. looking forward to more!

Well, well, well. What a scrumptious update! lol

Maxx finally gave in to Jase's advances. And he LIKED it! lol I can imagine he's feeling pretty out of it right now. I'm sure he doesn't know quite what to think, since this thing has never happened to him before. Is that why he didn't see Jase the next day? Was he afraid to confront his feelings? Was he feeling guilty about his wife?

And I agree w/Jase about Mr. Keeny. That was pretty unprofessional of him to discuss anything regarding Maxx in front of Jason.

Oh, and the use of the word 'gay', I thought we figured out society didn't associate that word with homosexuals until the early 1940's....

Anyway, awesome chapter! This will really give Maxx something to think about. ;)

Whoa, what just happened at the end of the chapter? Ok, I'm assuming the doors have to remain unlocked for everyone's safety, but I guess especially the doctor's. But what? Maxx got pissed enough to just up and leave? It didn't really go with his easy-going personality.

I'm glad they're finally discussing what Jase is doing there in the first place. By putting it off for so long, did Maxx think if they discussed it earlier and he "cured" Jason, then he would leave the place and Maxx would never see him again? So he procrastinated talking about the reason Jason was there to begin with?

Good chapter. I'm glad you're back! I don't know what rock I must have been under, but I noticed you posted a chapter back in January! Sorry I missed it then! Now I'm all caught up! :)

And I don't blame Maxx's wife for not feeling well; I wouldn't feel well either if I had to wear those stupid, binding corset thingys either! lol :)

This is a great story! It's a nice change to find stories that have a plot once in a while :-D Plus, it's very well written.
And I can't stop wonderin where this story is going..

I've been reading this for awhile now and never reviewed :-/ but anyways, just wanted to say that this is a unique story and I think you've captured the time in history, setting well and the characters are reallly strong, very charismatic, both of them. It reads like a movie :) I especially liked the last sentence in the last chapter...seems like the doctor is really already in love with jase, it seems ;)
