Love where this is going. Boyd's tattoo/branding chapter was so poignant it made me cry. Sin's loss is so palpable -- and I still refuse to believe it; and hope that Boyd doesn't give up either. I fear the Agency is going to show Boyd's one night stand with Emilio as evidence to confuse Sin. I love the scene between Carhart and Beaulieu - shows she is human and cares about Boyd too. Nice juxtaposition after the previous scene. This is well-developed material - thanks for keeping it going! I can really see it in the mainstream one day.

Ch3: Glad to see Boyd is going to find Sin for himself, or what he thinks might lead him to the reason why Sin disappeared.

ch4: videos of Boyd? dang. I wonder if Sin ever happened across any of those. I bet he would've raged. Or will rage, if he ever sees any of them.

That mission sure is fucked up. Boyd pretty much has to change his face if he ever wants to leave that sort of humiliation behind.

I like how he called himself an object within the agency. XD that's really what they all are anyway...

Also, female!Sin aka Bex is so awesome XD

Found something wrong with the formatting in case you were interested:

- The sentence got cut off at "the" and the next line/paragraph starts with "opportunity"

Ooooh a spy in the group. That should be interesting. I wonder if it is someone close to Boyd or another stranger.

Can't wait to find out who it is, or what the clues are.

Hearing Ivan say how much Sin missed Boyd made me happy. That was a cute moment. Even though Sin wasn't really there.
I can't imagine what it would be like if they finally met each other again.

ch 7: i'm a little mad at boyd for being so pessimistic about his mother. i mean, that even the new marshal is suspicious of her because of boyd should tell him something. he's being a little stubborn brat about all this, i have to say XD

but aww that scene in the tattoo parlor was so sweet. it's nice to see him stubbornly strong.
now you're starting to make me think that hsin is really dead. baaaddddd! if he is dead i'll always be in denial.

I don't know what to feel of Emilio/Boyd.I know a lot of like the pair but I'm still holing onto Hsin. He will never die!! You can't convince me.

I'm really not liking Sin being gone but I am loving this story. I kind of figured Boyd and Emilio would do something if left alone and I was right. I'm just wondering how this is going to play out in the rest of the story. I hope it doesn't take as long for the new chapters to be posted as these last ones. Can't wait!

Thank you for 4 more chapters of Fade. This is probably the most engaging story I've ever read, so I am happy to get bigger 'chunks'. But ending it with the episode between Boyd and Emilio - which, btw, it was unavoidable ;) - it's like I forget everything else that happened up to that! I am happy that you opened up Emilio a bit more - just like Boyd, for lack of Sin, I am getting more interested in Emilio. I'm a bit sad to see his colorful personality fade due to his loss, but it makes sense.

Making an effort to think of something else than this episode, it's interesting that you went and explained Vivienne's actions and made her look more human. I am curious what will come up from her alliance to Carhart.

Boyd's trip into the Rippers' domain hasn't solved anything. He's got some info, but not what he was looking for. The video presented by Vivienne also didn't show actual proof of death. You guys opened up so many different possible scenarios, we will be waiting impatiently for the next chapters! I am very curious about Cade's role in the future!!

Anyway, great job! I'm looking forward to more!!!

I never really know what to make of Vivienne so I always love when we get to see more of her. In the earlier parts of ItCoS, my impression of her was that she was a heartless semi-bad guy with brief flashes of motherly compassion. My second impression of her was that she was a semi-heartless good guy with brief flashes of motherly compassion. Now I’m getting from Chapter 8 that she’s even more human than I expected she could be. As for Vivienne getting all pouty about Boyd always assuming the worse of her… pfft. How can she blame him? She needs to give the kid a little more to work with than that ambiguous flicker of something-her-eyes-that-may-or-may-not-have-been-there. :P

I’m about equal parts “omg betrayal” and “omg hawt” about what happened with Emilio and Boyd. I’m curious to see what impact it might have on the plot.

That the cameras continued recording Sin after Boyd tore the first set out, doesn’t surprise me. I always wondered why Sin and Boyd weren’t more suspicious/paranoid about the potential for cameras everywhere. I never could see The Agency, from what I understood about them, pass up the opportunity to secretly spy on every single person on the compound and on Sin especially. I’m guessing that either The Agency is, in fact, spying on everyone or that they are on a limited budget (maybe this, or else they'd probably invest in a surveillance system with actual audio).

Enjoyed the chapters. Thank you both so much for writing! *muah*
