I cracked up at that, is it just a 'pay up and we won't gut you as an example' or 'pay up and we'll keep you in our sights just in case shit happens, but not paying is a seriously bad idea' kind of deal?

If the mum family front isn't because of a surprise party or some other clichéd but sweet outcome, I'm going to purposely procrastinate on drawing. Just saying.

Hey Asher! Loved the chapter. Coulda done without the 'heil Hitler' phrase. Even though I'm not religious at all, it is pretty offensive to me, considering many of my ancestors died b/c of that psycho bastard. I don't even like the phrase 'Nazi Review' or w/e people say about getting reviews.

Ok, I LOVE KNARLEY!!! I felt so bad for Jake, how come his mom didn't wish him Happy B-Day before he left for school? The bitch. I think Max is gonna freak about the tat, maybe his mom too. Oh and that Mac should have given him cream and bacitracin or some disinfectant to put on three times a day or so for the first week I think it is. I don't remember. My oldest got one last year when he turned nineteen. Not too happy about that one either, lol.

I hope things get better for Jake. He's such a good kid.

The opening of this story really got to me. I'm 33. Married for 10 years. Staunchly heterosexual (because I loves me some peen okaaaaaaaay). So I don't really have personal experience or personal knowledge with the issues that face GLBT people. And I don't have kids, so I am excluded from the whole "unconditional love of younguns" thing. But the abuse that young non-heteronormative people take BREAKS MY HEART. Every time I hear a story on the news about some young person taking their own life because of bullying, it just. . .it stays with me like the most haunting images of war. And there is so much bullshit injustice in America. With the presidential election year in full swing, the conservative candidates are vowing to stand against same-sex marriage and that is in SUCH BLATANT contradiction to the Constitution that it makes me want to punch their balls right in the face.

Ok. Pulling it back to the chapter. Your deconstruction of Jake's universe is amazing. He feels it physically and we feel it physically and that is what good writing is all about.

AND THEN, you make me NOT want to slit my wrists and bleed all over my monitor with your fabulous one liners and completely loveable characters. Ms. Yurivna is a doll. Knarly is getting a fucking medal. And not-so-subtle body artists (bodists?) with warm hands cheering up sad little gay boys on their birthdays? I will fucking drink to that, my friend.
