I haven't caught up with Waiting in the Throes for a while, but now I remember how much I adore Brennan, how real he is to me. And Maddox Gray writes absolutely perfect dialogue that sounds real and never stilted (except where it's supposed to sound stilted - grin). Love this story so much.

Aww man, you are really breaking my heart here... I really hope they find those bastards soon, even though I know that even that won't make Brennan feel safe again. I admit that I skipped over some of the more graphic scenes in the story but Brennan's immersing voice and the desperate need to see Brennan come to the point shown in the prologue kept me going... that and see him overcome the nervous wreck shown there (not that anyone could blame him). Truly, you're one of the less than a handful of writers that still compel me to not abandon aff... if it wasn't for you guys, I wouldn't even bother to come here.

I look forward to each and every chapter of "Waiting in the Throes" and I especially can't wait to see how things go when they go public with Al and Phil's photos... I really, really hope they catch them and that revolting Organization.

Hope you update soon! <3

It took me forever to find this book online and now I'm hooked. How often do new chapters come out? I did not realize that chapter32 was not the end until I got there. Now I am sad... I want to know what happens! I hope Brennan reunites with Jason. Maybe they can help each other... I am however worried at how the book started, to where we are now. It seems like Brennan isn't going to get better, but rather keep himself his own prisoner. I really hope that is not the case. can't wait for more.

Good to see progress! Brennan is actually voluntarily surfing the net for info, I don't know if that is bravey or stupidity, but it's something at least. Something that feels more forward tham back.
I still worry over Jason, I really hope Brennan meets him again one day. Jason's definetely in need of more help than Brennan, but well.... Who knows... Jason's case feels somewhat what like beyond help sometimes. What with over three years of trauma... his PTSD must be at levels unheard of before.

Looking forward to more! and this new character of a friend is interesting if he'll be brought in further.

I kind of wished it wasn't a dream and that Rich was right there with him which wasn't the case. But then I thought, what if Brennan did dream the whole hospital and being back home with his family. What if he's still in the clutches of Phil and Al but Jason did get away. What if back when he tried to kill himself and Phil stopped him they drugged him and he's living all this in his head. What if Phil and Al decided not to kill him and the snuff film never happened. I don't think that's the case but wouldn't it be crazy if it was.

Oh, almost missed this update! Glad I found it, though!

Sam is really cute, but I was kind of struck by how she used the language of "training" Brennan. I'm sure it wasn't intentional on her part, but I would've thought that concept could have been pretty triggering for Brennan. After all, Phil used that language several times, and I remember that Brennan was horrified at the thought. But Brennan didn't seem to mind in this chapter, I guess he's just really comfortable around Sam or didn't make the connection.

Aw, Jason. I hope Brennan is able to contact him soon. I should hope that the police notified Jason that Brennan survived and is in one piece, more or less. I'm sure Jason took a lot of psychological damage throughout his ordeal besides the psychological repercussions of guilt for Brennan's sacrifice. But knowing Brennan is okay, I'd think, would take even just a little off his shoulders. Poor kid, I really want to hear from him or see some reunion of some kind. But at this point, I imagine, both Brennan and Jason need to focus on healing.

I'd been wondering if we'd see the bad guys again in dreams, flashbacks or other psychotic episodes. I know I'm not the only sicko who likes reading the horror erotica stuff, so the creepy Rich scene was appreciated. Seems like Brennan got Rich down pretty accurately. It makes me wonder again what Rich is up to now, and what he'd actually do if Brennan fell into his hands. I suppose he'd kill him right away (I recall some indication from you that Rich might have pressured Phil and Al into going through with the execution, or at least that he had something to do with the decision to kill him? Can't remember). But I imagine no one is going to go after Brennan while he's in the police spotlight, if they even do go after him again.

Thanks for the update!

I was so happy to see this updated. This story is just so good, it was hard waiting, but it was worth the wait. I look forward to the next chapter.
