I just found this excellent story and read it all in two days. Your write Brennan emotions and reactions so, so well. And everyone around him is so well written, too. Perfect. I love it.

I swear. I had a heart attack when he ran out of his house.... YOU NUTS BRENNAN?!?!?!? OMG YOU BARKING MAD DUDE!!! and he DIDNT tell them about the driving lisence!!! OI OI OI!!!! OIIII?!?!?! he's mad. he's lost it. he's got memory problems or something... something...
at least they've nailed Al n Phil.
and we've still yet to hear more directly about Jason...
and... oh god just.
But... Brennan's character is coming back up. The character and personality we never got to know - since the story started with him being kidnapped. But. assuming some things (like he was studying psychology)... he has got to be some parts curious and some parts kick ass in there that's not gonna die down... especially not after fighting so hard to survive...
god..... every time this updates, i get a fresh wave of terror of all the horrors that are out there in the world.

What a phenomenal, well written story. If you haven't professionally published a book yet, you should. I have read many, many male/male genre books and this story rates up there with the best of them. The writing was fantastic, every thought was complete and thought out, not in a rush like a lot of writers tend to do. Everything was realistic and believable. Excellent, can't wait for the story ton continue!

Ooh, an update!
You know, I like all of your chapters, but this one struck me as particularly well-written. I don't know if it's because everything flowed together nicely, it seemed technically strong in regards to Brennan's narration, or the events itself? I guess not a lot actually happened in this chapter per se, but I loved Brennan's interactions with Carter. Carter's introduction seemed really genuine, and I have to say, it was weirdly touching to see him interact with a male friend. Not knocking Sam, and I think opposite gender best friends are awesome. But him going to Carter's and playing Call of Duty and eating pizza (is Brennan allowed to eat that stuff?) just seemed like a really authentic thing for a young guy to do. So far, he hasn't really had interactions with guys his own age besides Jason, which... was obviously really messed up. Brennan let Carter glomp him, nag him about his weight and joke around, doesn't seem like he's intimidated or nervous. It's like a look into Brennan's life before everything, and a sort of promise that he can get back to that life, at least somewhat. Haha at the description of Carter I was like, "what a hipster!" until Brennan promised me he didn't come across that way. I like the guy, though.
Actually, I shouldn't say nothing happened, we freaking found out Phil and Al's real names! I wonder how long you've known them? They seem to suit them. I was freaking out a bit that Phil was actually a James. Whaaat! Why would you go by a plumber's name like "Phil" when you actually have an awesome name like James? Oh wait, Phil is a plumber, or something like that. Tradesmen. Guy in a van. So now we know that they are on the run. I'd guess that if what happened to Rich was any example, they were well prepared for the possibility. I guess the police must have found the farmhouse too, ooh, spooky. Wait, did Brennan's dad cut off the detective in explaining to us how the police figured out their names? I thought they might be able to match what Brennan told them about their possible occupations, their looks and nicknames together, but it seemed like the reason related to how they took Brennan to the drive-in, or out of the house? The car? Video footage of the license plate or something? I got nothing, I don't even watch crime dramas (or anything else, really) on TV.
Phil is a James... mind still blown. Seriously, though, the names suit them. Makes them feel more real, which is a little freaky. Now I'm left to wait to see what happens to them - will they try to go after Brennan again, leading to a dramatic confrontation? (is it bad that I kind of hope so?) Or will the police just catch them one day. :P Since you promised a happy ending, I guess we, and Brennan, won't just have to forget about them and expect that they will never return.
What the heck was Brennan's dad thinking? Or, I guess he wasn't. He'd been sort of quiet and understanding about it before, it was kind of a slap in the face to hear him accuse Brennan of... what exactly? I guess he was angry at the thought that Brennan could have gotten away earlier, and I hope he didn't mean to imply that Brennan wanted to stay there or something. After knowing how much they hurt him, why would he think it was a casual trip to the movies? For all he knew, Al had a gun pointed at Brennan's head the whole time. In a way, Phil and Al kind of did - not to mention, what would have happened to Brennan if he had tried to get help but failed. They could have killed him then. At least the FBI guy was understanding, and hopefully his dad got the point. I get a stranger saying that, but geez, his dad should have been more understanding to how severe things were for Brennan. Well, everyone makes mistakes, his mom was constantly stumbling around Brennan so I suppose it's realistic that his dad will, on occasion, too.
Whew, this isn't a critique or anything, but there are a lot of characters in part 2. Medical staff, police/FBI/etc people, family, friends. Hopefully a love interest for Brennan soon, right? Though I'm actually hoping most for a reunion with Jason. I hope Brennan gets in contact with him. Unless Jason is desperately trying to repress the last two, three years, I think he'd like to know that Brennan is okay and doesn't blame him for anything.
Thanks for the update!

Awesome as always and always worth the wait! I'm glad Bren has had a small yet painful break from his home and at least on agent whom he feels slightly comfortable with. Thanks for sharing! read ya laters!
