Wow...this story just gets better and better!! I actually feel my heart start to beat harder and faster as I read. Your writing style is so rare as to draw me into the story and make me feel as if I am in there with the characters. I was yelling in my head for them to stop, and when Jason said stop, I looked over my shoulder..LOL I cant wait for more...please keep em coming and thank you for sharing

Omg I'm so happy for the update! I loved this chapter and it made me tear up really
bad. I feel so horrible for Jason and Brennan especially on the part where Brennan was hiding in the bathroom and didnt want to open the door, gosh that tore me up but I must say your characters are so life like and I get so sucked into your stories it feels like Im there with them. Quite amazing talent you have:D

Should be sleeping, should be studying linguistics. But call it a premonition - I just had to come check.
Every time Brennan makes to get away I think "This is it!" But this is the first time when was thoroughly met with
such an overwhelming sense of despair - and a little disappointment. Naturally, realistically I know there was no
way in which he could have believably escaped. I'm finding myself having reached the point where I wonder why Brennan
hasn't thought about suicide; this chapter was the first where I found myself actively thinking it was a viable option to him.
Jason's story is heartbreaking, and I'm thoroughly impressed with the camaraderie, and bravery Brennan showed while listening.
It really makes me fear for Brennan, and I've had to go back and read the first part of the chapter - to reassure myself, as bleak
his life seems that he survives this whole ordeal. Because at this moment I have felt my assurance of this all but snuffed out.
Thank you for delivering this superb chapter right at the bleakest moment of my exam "week". It has been a reprieve I have most enjoyed

Your story is a diamond in a mountain of coal. It's nice to see something dark and gritty for a change.
That said... I'm glad for this later chapter. It was a nice change of pace in story and character behavior.

Wow!! I nearly started hyperventilating when I saw the update!!!!!! I've been checking on the website nearly every day to see it. This chapter was heartbreaking, I nearly cried. Please don't kill Jason, I want them both to survive!! At first I wanted Phil and Al to die, but I think getting arrested and put in jail for the rest of their sorry lives would be better. Keep the good work!!!

Oh wow, an update! I keep an eye on your tumblr for updates about... updates, lol. But tumblr is confusing, I tried commenting on something but I don't think it went through. Probably lucky for you - if you kept a real blog like Livejournal instead, I'd probably spam you with long comments, haha! So I have a lot of blathering to do, and it's your fault because you made me wait over a month, so now it's all going to come out in one big long ramble. haha.
Firstly, I remember when Phil said he wasn't going to kill Brennan in the barn. I remember thinking it was a little strange that Brennan believed him, didn't even question whether or not Phil was being honest when Phil and Al have repeatedly flat out lied to Brennan, for honestly no other reason than just to get a reaction out of him most of the time, or get him to temporarily comply. They do it so often it seems that Brennan would have a gut reaction to doubt absolutely everything that they say. Maybe Brennan just wanted to believe that Phil and Al wouldn't kill him, but with Jason claiming that Richard said he killed the last boy he abducted, I don't know, it seems pretty bleak for Brennan. Phil and Al certainly seem capable of killing him, though I guess I want to believe that somehow they have just a little bit more humanity than that, if not much. But, after all, I doubt they intend to keep him forever. Of course this also begs the question that Richard lied to Jason to scare him about killing the last victim... psychological torture and all, but I'm not sure how effective that is on him these days since he wants to die. I'm not very confident that Jason will make it through this story, but I am assuming, and hoping of course, that Brennan will!
I'm still curious about Jason and Richard. Jason said in the last chapter that the twenty minutes or so he spent with Brennan on the best was the longest time he'd had alone in six months. But does Richard really supervise him 24/7? Doesn't Richard work? Is Richard actually married? (What a plot twist, if he has an equally evil wife or something!) Does he have other, err, slaves? Is he attached to Jason in any way at all, even in some twisted way deep inside, or is Jason just his current pet on a list of many? The whole filming this is pretty disturbing, too. I can, of course, see Richard filming Jason (would distributing it online be dangerous, though? What if someone recognized him? then again, Jason speculates he only shows it to his friends) but I am wondering why he needs Jason's permission to do so. Maybe if Jason cooperates, it's sexier or something? But since these people get off on rape and torture, I dunno if that's an issue. I'm also not quite sure what Jason saved Brennan from. He seemed to think they were planning on doing something to Brennan right after the branding, but maybe I missed something. I don't know exactly what it was. I guess he just wants Richard to tell Phil and Al to let him recover a bit in between injuries? Anyway, I guess Jason just sees himself in Brennan and wants to help him, but it's terribly touching that he's going so far to give Brennan a bit of comfort - probably that he never had throughout his own ordeal. I'm actually a little surprised that there's so much "left" in Jason, if his entire experience with Richard has been so horrifyingly awful, but it's nice that Jason is able to care about him.
New Phil and New Al are really interesting. I kind of wonder when they will switch personalities again. I love the dynamic between them, and I love that you give Brennan two antagonists instead of just one. The whole weird relationship makes the plot a lot more exciting. I do kind of hope Phil softens a little toward Brennan again, because c'mon, his life sucks just about as much as it could possibly suck right now (though I expect to be proven wrong in the next chapter). I think at first a lot of us assumed there would be some level of Stockholm Syndrome involved, but it seems like there is absolutely none at all here, certainly not with Brennan anytime soon, but not with Jason at all either. Anyway, my fan theory on how Brennan eventually gets free is maybe due to the dynamics between Phil and Al - some kind of fight, maybe? - and I'm wondering who is more dangerous in the end. Al is being patient with Brennan now, but he also seems to think that he's the one who "owns" him, and that can't bode well for Brennan's escape.
And my confession - I still hope he doesn't get saved for awhile. I love these chapters, because they're so gripping and dramatic. I mean, I'm sure the post-abduction chapters will be amazing, too, but I guess I have a thing for abduction scenarios. I think my favorite scene in this chapter was right in the beginning, with Brennan hiding in the bathroom and finally opening the door. I suppose that is a metaphor for him starting to really give in to Phil and Al, just out of fear of punishment.
This, though - "It was a strange feeling, knowing some of the most intimate and traumatizing moments in another person’s life– a person I barely knew, yet I didn’t know the mundane facts everyone knew about their friends– their favorite colour, the first time they got stiches, who they took to prom..." Buuut Brennan just found out who Jason took to prom. His sister's friend Elle! ;)
I'm sure I can think of more to say but I will leave you alone now! Thank you as always for giving us such an amazing story!
