I thought the end would never come. I kind of figured he would end with a snuff film given the situation. I still shed a tear for Brennan though. I stopped reading this a while back just before the visitors visited chapter. I needed to recuperate for the horror. You do a great job describing it. I don't think I have read anything less sexy and more more disturbing. I started reading again this weekend and got a lovely surprise. Where you have reached in the story, Brennan is free. I can't wait to read what comes next.

Woke up this morning and was thinking about your story! I also was remembering a book I read when I was in high school, which is one of my favorite young adult books now. It was called ‘When Jeff Comes Home’ by Catherine Atkins. Have you ever read it? It’s about a boy who gets kidnapped and held captive for a few years while being physically/mentally and sexually abused, then is let to return home and is stalked by his abuser, and is trying to adjust to living at home again. Also wondering if you have read many kidnapping books before you wrote WITT, and do you read any now for inspiration or to get familiar with the subject because of WITT? And if you do, would you mind sharing some titles? I know I’d be interested in reading more about the topic.

How awesome for us! A very nice treat. I like the tone of this half of the story too! Can't wait to see all the mysteries unfold! There is so much speculation on your tumblr, really making me excited! I wish there was an update every week or two, but I know how much time and effort these things take. Very exciting. Can't wait to see how it goes with the police! Poor Brennan has been through so much, I hope he does go through with everything needed to gather information and evidence; and not just recede into his shell. Justice! Haha <3 take care.

wow this new update was insane.I was holding myself the entire time! I really hope that brennan is going to get to stay free and that his honorablr sacrifice wasn't for nothing. This character is so very strong, mentally and physically, more than I could ever imagaine a real life person being.
It's a wonder someone found him and he survived. But what's his family going to thing?

Finally, Brennan is out of there and away from Phil and Al. Now, I can look forward to a less stressful reading of part 2 and just pray he doesn't run into them again.

Man, I liked the abduction arc a lot, but after the last chapter, it's so nice to see Brennan in the hospital. I'm sure he's got a long road ahead of him but it's a relief to see his injuries treated and people trying to put him on the path to recovery at least. Brennan seems surprisingly with it, all things considered - I think if it were me, I'd be convinced I was dead, dreaming or crazy. But I guess Brennan sort of "gave up" so maybe he's just more blank than anything else. The nurse and doctor seem really good at their job, though, and they are treating him with sensitivity, compassion and warmth without getting too close.

Concerning how they found him, I know we'll probably learn pieces as we go along but it seems so far that Phil tried to hide the body but did an uncharacteristically poor job. I wonder what he did, how far off the road he was. Did he try to bury Brennan or toss him in a river? Brennan probably wouldn't have survived that. I was curious if Phil freaked out after he completed (or so he thought) the deed. Brennan noted in an earlier chapter that after Phil's needs are satiated, he's not so ruthless. "He becomes human again", I think he said. Of course, apparently for three weeks Phil remained totally unsatisfied, but maybe the act of killing Brennan made him nervous and so he botched the job of hiding the corpse? I don't know, maybe not, but even "bad" people can be severely uncomfortable after their first kill. Though maybe Phil watches a lot of snuff films online or something and is totally desensitized, I don't know. I'm just speculating.

Ah, Brennan's family. I'm kind of assuming we'll meet Matt next chapter, I'm sure the moment he hears the news he'll drive straight to the hospital. Not sure if that includes the whole family though. I wonder how they'll all react... the hospital staff, as I said, so far have been really gentle to Brennan, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see victim-blaming, "them gay homos" accusations and general humiliation due to the fact that Brennan is a boy, not a girl. Maybe not from his family, hopefully they'll be preoccupied with just being happy to see him again, regardless if they're homophobic (though Brennan's sexuality is totally irrelevant to this scenario, whether they see it that way or not.)

I wonder if Brennan will set his FB to private. If his friends start commenting on his wall with "glad you're okay, man" or something, Phil and Al could in theory see that assuming they check his Facebook. I don't know why they would, but maybe if Al is going nutso with his ~lost love for Brennan~ he might. For that matter, I wonder if news stations will try to broadcast his story or something, he's got good reason after all to not want his story made public. If Phil and Al see it, I think they'd definitely go after him again, even if just for the principle of it rather than to silence him.

I never expected to find an update this fast and hope that whatever writing bug has bit you keeps attacking. I am so relieved for Brennan but still sad that he's facing this all alone. Dr. Carson is really good and I think he is sincerely trying to help Brennan and wants the men who did this to him caught and punished. Now, when Brennan told the nurse his name she seemed a little shocked so I am wondering had she remembered hearing about him on the news? I hope that Matt arrvies before the police so he can give his kid brother moral support when Brennan is giving his statement or interview. I am going to copy and paste this over on your tumblr page so you don't have to answer it twice. Please keep surprise us like this in the future!
