I admire your integrity. Most people would skip the 'endless' torture and the hospital scenes and lose the realism. You havnt balked at any of this and by virtue of it, I love Brennan and I believe in him and I never listen to music when I'm walking alone... You have a skill that few can match!

What does this mean? I was so distracted by my own desire to remain upright, that I didn’t notice the guard to the right of me until my eyes swept down the hall for a second time. He offered a close lipped smile before returning to the magazine in front of him, taking next to no interest in me… for now. Will Phil or Al try to sneak into the hospital and finish Brennan off but this officer saves him? I would love to see someone put Phil at least in their place and give them a taste of his own medicine. Will we find out what he looks like? I liked Officer Bowden but you said he wouldn't be Brennan's love interest so was thinking (hopefully) maybe this as of yet unknown officer could be?

This was a good chapter as always. I'm really liking Brennan's dad way more than Matt or his mom. I look forward to next months update. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! What a wonderful present and it was a cool idea of you to post chapter 25 on December 25th! This was the best present I got for Christmas! Well, again this was another emotional chapter for me to read but I got through it along with Brennan. What's with Brennan's mom saying this to his dad and Matt; “But I don’t understand how he could be so callous, you didn’t hear–” I thought she would have been relieved Brennan was finally starting to 'open up' to her about what happened to him and when he does she leaves the room and doesn't come back! I think so far that Brennan's dad is my favorite character (of his family) and the fact that Brennan senses he staying to protect him makes me love the guy more. Thanks for making my Christmas! I hope we can read more soon. Merry Christmas and Happy 2013!

It seems like I've been waiting forever for you to update but I know in reality it really hasn't been that long just in my mind. I came online to check and happily found that you had left all your readers a very special Christmas gift and on Christmas day! Brennan still has a very long way to go before he will ever feel good about himself again. I kind of got frustated with his mother by how she reacted to what Brennan was telling her about his ordeal. I mean, geeze, he finally gets enough courage to tell her some of what happened and then she thinks he's being difficult. I think Brennan's dad is the only one in his family who understands what he's going through even if he doesn't know the full story of what happened to his youngest son. I felt for Brennan when he saw his reflection in the bathroom mirror. Merry, belated, Christmas and Happy New Year!

Maddox, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and were able to spend quality time with your family/loved ones/friends. I am beginning to think that Brennan's family is as messed up as he is and that they all need family therapy to deal with everything. We finally learned who found Brennan and how. I only wish that somehow Phil had been seen running away from the scene by someone else and they got a plate number on his van. If he messed up once, it's possible he could have again and I certainly hope he did. Is the police officer protecting Brennan outside in the hallway going to be with him until the men are caught and he's safe again? When the time arrives for Brennan to be released, will he still have protection? I am happy it was Louise who helped Brennan shower and felt his pain from all the horrible memories it entailed. I check for updates on this story every day! Waiting to find out how Brennan recovers and whether or not his rapists ever get caught and pay for their crime. I also am worried about Jason and what's happened to him. Is he safe and with his family or back with Richard? This story is very upsetting but I want to read more of it.
