Your characters are very interesting and they feel very real. The dialogue is very natural and I think my favorite character so far is Kedean (I hope I've spelled his name correctly). I look forward to more updates! This story is very interesting and I'm digging the suspense :)

I also wanted to say that the line about exploitation really cracked me up! I'm amazed that you're updating so frequently and by all means, keep it coming.

I love fast updates...
The little talk between Kedean and Baisyl revealed quite a bit, especially the fact, that they are drawn to each other. They nearly dance around each other with words (like the fight), trying to find the other off-balance or to see more of the mystery behind it. A lot of potential...and I think Baisyl can be glad, that he has somebody by his side, that kind of cares about him (especially thanks to his nice brother).
Well, the rest is speculation. Somehow I think I overread Despers wings and what she is. I am without a clue.
But interesting was the fact, that Baisyls mother seems to be a powerful witch (I guess she is the one Desper wants dead and he is the son. I guessed something like that in the last chapter, but couldn't quite believe it). That leads to the question, why she didn't help him and where she is. Maybe didn't like his father? Well, and why doesn't Baisyl like the mentioning of his heritage (okay, he has a brother that is nuts...)?
And Desper doesn't seem quite so nice to kindnap somebody because of his heritage, although she feels that he is as far from being a threat as he could be (not being magical).
Well, and if it is "just" an illusion spell everything should still be in the right order...I am so looking forward to Kedeans reaction once he knows of this little part of the story.
So, hope you continue soon. Now seems to be the beginning of a lot of action and a lot of hints. I am really curious what is going to happen...

That's good to hear. I do love ukes, that are feisty, domineering or simply really good with a sword (kind of what you said: I don't really like the whimpering little ones), but I am pretty classical concerning the sex. Good to hear.
So, the chapter was short, but: Holy hell, I love gore. And the stuff mentioned is really nasty and creative - although I do think, that Kedean told that to prevent Baisyl from jumping. He is pretty nice and it will be interesting to hear, what he answers. And I do smell the beginnings of fascination coupled with the first hints of "like" in their little talk.
Baisyl is a bit narrow-minded, ne? Women get one bad class, men get two bad ones? I hope he changes his opinion in light of the reality he is surrounded with.
And who is Desper? A new figure...but shouldn't she be a bit less drunk if she wants do be a feared captain?

I really enjoyed reading the first few chapters and I can't wait for more. I love Baisyl although I'm hoping he eventually go back to being a full male again. I was so not surprised that Kedean didn't take Baisyl seriously. I kind of like how Baisyl started off by asking how to hold the kattas and then flipped it and caught it with ease. That was funny. I hope to see more of this in the near future.

ooohhh...technicalities!!! he's a crafty one!! HAHAAHAHA!! this is going to be interesting!!! so, is he going to turn back into a "he" before...before...*cough cough* or is there going to be a female body and then "SURPRISE!!!"??
ANYWAY, really interesting story!!! like that the character has dark skin!!! (instead of the typical "pale as the moon" skin that everyone seems to favor!!) MAD PROPS!! KEEP IT COMIN!!!
