Oh dear, you replied to my mad rambles ;) .
Not that mafia need another reason than money, assets and area. To be honest, if you were to write a story about a gang in my town it would be a comedy: they dress like English chavs, have shaved heads, speak like cretins, drive black BMWs and eat at McDonald's. Don't get me started on acting like 10 year olds with guns - my mum once went to a bakery after work to pick up some cake, she parked outside and was about to go out. Suddenly a car stopped next to her, the driver sprung out of his seat and started to shout at random teens outside who ran off. It ended with another random guy ... jumping out of the car's trunk with an automatic gun and them both running into the bakery. They have a pattern though - they own an ice cream parlour in the city centre. Conclusion: if Matt lived in my town he would quickly become the boss :P .
Anyhow, your plot is not sucky - I guess police is not always similar to those in crime novels ;) . I'm guessing since they're busy being idiots, Vincenzo warns Matt about them in case the feds make everything go to hell ;) . First step in "Everything Goes to Hell" is probably to capture Matt and once again let him act as a bait or a key witnessbecause those fools are out of options. Hmm... Then, there's the mystery of the sudden appearance of Elena, Leah and Vincenzo - I'll make another guess here: the cops are after Leah as well? Maybe she's seen something? So... both gangsters decide to kill both birds with one stone and protect both Matt and Leah. Hahaha, anyhow, you're killing me here... so yeah, your plot is no way near sucky :P .
I swore I wont comment on pairings, BUT I have to, I have to, it's my obligation! You killed me even more with the ending and as half of your readers I'm rooting for Vincenzo I'm afraid :P . Him and Matt have a more natural relationship (they're snarking is awesome) and it seems a bit more, I dunno ... happy? :P Well, I can see Asher's charm, maaayyybeee he will surprise me and stop being a bastard (well, I like bastards, but positive bastards and Asher seems like the bad kind). Okay all of this doesn't make any sense.
Aaaand Elena is growing on me - she's badarse :D and has big guns and a good sense of humour. On the other hand she's pretty nice to Leah...

Hell yah! I TOTALLY AGREE with that other reviewer when she pointed out that Vincenzo is really just a momentary distraction. I mean it only makes sense that he is tempted by the sight of a naked hot guy when he hasn't been close to anyone for awhile. Who wouldn't? However dear Mario DOES NOT seem to mesmerize him quite the WAY that Asher does. Matthew was always thinking about how PERFECT he was, how it never felt REAL being with him. Matty obviously LOVES him, and can't let go of him, and probably NEVER will. Mario just never lured him in the way ASHER did. I MISS ASHER DAMMNIT! I REALLY HOPE TO GOD THEY DONT HAVE SEX. BUT IF THAT'S WHAT IT TAKES FOR Matty to realize that Asher is the one then so be it! Update soon :D

I can totally picture several peopple DELICIOUS/HOTT as Asher such as Ian Somerhalder, Chace Crawford, Robert Pattinson or Johnny Depp. All those men can be Asher in my head since they're all HOTT as hell XD Thanks for the chappie

Another note - I'm guessing all hell's going to break loose when Asher finds out Vincenzo made a move on Matty. hehehe can't wait for the drama to unfold ! ;)
