This chapter was awesome to read. Thanks for providing a lengthy update (though, if I gotta be honest, I'd say we all deserved it! haha) In this chapter I wish that Muffin wouldn't have been so attached to Asher, given the detachment he had shown in the previous. After the things that he's been dragged through, I'd think there might be more anger towards the situation. It made me wonder if this "honeymoon"is perhaps the calm before the storm? I am very much intrigued by the hints dropped of Asher's work/ the story behind it.
Anyways, great chapter, and I hope you keep the updates coming, because I think my heart stopped when I saw you'd posted a new chapter.

Best holiday gift EVER. Been ACHING for an update to this one. And I dropped EVERYTHING I was doing (including turning in important projects on time) just to read it. So worth it. Every time I read an update, I want to go back to the very beginning with Muffin and read it all the way through to Matthew, because that feels like watching a movie marathon to me. Now I'm wondering just what Asher did that's supposedly so unforgivable to him. I'm wondering if Sabrina's crushing harder on Matthew than Asher now. I'm wondering what happened to Vince and the information Asher, as usual, withdrew from him. And, yes, I understand and agree with Asher about guns not solving anything. HOWEVER, at least give the guy some hand to hand self defense! Luckily, he's already pretty good at scoping out exits by now (having survived so much crazy shit), but show him a few defensive (but aggressive) techniques! "This is how you can knock someone out the safest" or "This is where you hit so that it hurts long enough for you to escape" Asher and the gang keep bending over backwards to keep him safe, but let's face it, people!! He's a top ten target now. Sheech. If he wants to train with a gun, teach him where to shoot to maim, but not kill. What's gonna happen when he does have a chance to shoot a gun under extreme circumstances? He'll end up fucking up and killing someone by accident, that's what. So, why not plan ahead? Granted, anything can happen and he could end up killing someone even after that kind of training, but the chances are still decreased if he IS trained! I lost track of where I was going with all of this. The point is that it's an excellent chapter (when is it ever anything less?). I will definitely have to re-read everything again during my long anticipated xmas break. But, even just vaguely remembering what happened, I knew that it's been a good long while since Matthew has been able to touch and kiss and maul(?) Asher. That entire scene on the bus really pulled at the heartstrings. Mourning a life neither of them could have, huh? Deep, deep stuff. I also really like how Matthew eventually just takes it with a grain of salt...like "well, it's never gonna be all moonlight and roses..." Keep fighting, Matthew. Keep fighting. I freaking love this series.
