I saw your name listed up under authors currently online and got excited that you would finally update after a VERY long absence. You haven't posted any new chapters since July so I hope you start to get back on track writing again soon.

P.S. You are so very lucky to be one of the few authors on this site that have such a fantastic fan base and whose readers take the time to review your story faithfully even in between the long wait between updates. I hope you begin to think of all of them in terms of nudging you to write again.

Oh wow.
First off, this is my first review on this entire site, yay!
Second, I love these characters. I read Muffin and now Matthew in a day that had my Blackberry glued to my hand.
I cannot wait to see what you do with them. It was nice to see Matthew having a somewhat "normal" life, with friends and peers his AGE, without baggage, who liked him and teased him. He really needed that, considering his background.
And now Asher is back. I really appreciated that Asher calls Matthew "Muffin", even though we know Asher knows his true origins. I feel it would be too jarring if that changed, even though I notice Matthew calls himself Matthew in this story.
So far, I feel this story is missing the chaos and quiet desperation that were so evident in the first story. However, I am sure that is going to change because Carter hasnt really made his move and who knows what awaits Matthew when and if he packs his bags?
I wonder if these characters will ever tell each other "I love you". It almost seems out of character, as if they dont have to say the words because it is something they just KNOW. But I still hope it is said.
Even though I want a happy ending for these two, I really hope that it wont come so easily for them. Sex is awesome, but I dont think that was forgiveness just yet. Will Matthew giving Asher the greatest blowjob ever help to fix things? You never do oral sex between the two of them. Maybe thats the trick?? ;)

I started reading Muffin a loooong time ago! I recently found out you'd finished it, so I set aside some time to re read the whole thing from start to finish since it had been well over a year since I'd last read any of it. I can't tell you how powerful your characters are, their presence and their ability to pull empathy from the reader. I feel more strongly about their pain and turmoil than I have over many characters from "published" material. I know you get the chapters out as fast as you can, so the trivial amount of continuity/grammar issues don't take much away from the material itself. I've been reading and writing both fanfiction and original online slash for the better part of a decade and "Muffin" (and now "Matthew", as well) is easily in my top five I've EVER had the privilege of reading. The end of "Muffin" was perfect! It felt like an epic movie ending, with the sirens and the police descending on their final scene together. I always knew that Muffin and Asher could not truly have a happy ending until something dramatically shifted between them, and even though it was a open ending, it felt conclusive enough to be satisfying. Even though I ship AsherxMuffin HARD (lol), I will freely admit that having Muffin submit to Asher's behavior forever would have been out of character and ultimately unsatisfying as an ending.
I'm so, so happy, not only because you've continued to tell this story, but also because the sequel is just as thrilling as the first. I'm normally not a multi-shipper, but I always wanted Muffin and Vincenzo to temporarily explore whatever it was that existed between them, even if they don't feel like such an epic pairing. I won't deny that I want Asher and Muffin to end up together very much (like burning!), but I know that the characters will have a lot of growing to do, and I'm hoping that's what Asher is experiencing at this point in the story. I had a horrible thought that Asher was luring Muffin back to the States for some unpleasant purpose! I think Asher's character is one of the best, and while I love his cold, unfeeling demeanor I'm enjoying seeing him stretch outside those rigid lines and experiment.
I also want to mention that I love the addition of Muffin's chemical dependance, and hope that it will be discovered and possibly exploited by Asher. I'll be honest, the fact that Asher was willing to bribe Muffin with opiates in order to get him to come live with him in the first book was incredibly hot, and Muffin was always on the verge of addiction but it never really gripped him like it does now, in "Matthew". I will be interested to see whether Asher encourages the behavior or reacts differently this time around. Either way, I hope to see more of this plot point, it's a great one and tends to hit a kink for a good portion of slash readers, for some reason.

Hey! Haven't had any updates for Matthew in while. Hope you're okay and all is well, at least relatively. I've really missed Matty. Can't wait to see what happens next. Does Asher want Matty to move in with him, and why? And how is Matty gonna react, since Asher probably won't explain anything? Please update again soon? I love Matty, and can't wait to see how he and Asher and gonna play out.
