I don't know how to start this review, but I'll just begin by saying I love this.
The story as a whole (and I am also talking abut Muffin here) was great from many points of view. For starters, I was delighted to find it was not your average dark gangsty love story, it had depth and I felt that behind every gesture, attitude or line lay a reason; it weren't words simply thrown there for the sake of writing them. Despite its length, I never thought of it to be boring or dragged. There are a lot of love stories where unimportant scenes are insisted on when they don't even contribute to the story. This is not the case of Muffin and Matthew. Also, I like your versatility as a writer. Everyone has a particular thing it doesn't feel comfortable to write about, be it a gore scene or an erotic one. But you literally wrote everything that must have been put down there for the authenticity of the story. Be it sex, the characters' near-death experiences, the death of Muffin's beloved dog, a fluffy moment or even the description of a street, I absolutely loved what you were capable to do with your words. I felt like everything was so fluid and had a reason to be there, slowly contributing to the evolution of characters. Speaking of characters, this is the part where I personally believe you excel at. Despite its length, you only have a dozen characters, which gave you the possibility to make them as complex and compelling as possible. I love how realistically Muffin's personality is build and how atypical and impossible is to point out a specific feature. You cannot say if he is a hero or anti-hero (which pretty much applies to every other character). In Asher's case I am still asking myself if he is the prince in shining armor or the death of everything Muffin is trying to achieve - this unpredictability is what gives a story substance, and as an author, it is its greatest tool to keep the reader going. You gracefully achieved it by writing both stories from a first person point of view - what Muffin knows is what we know. And the great part is that with all the psychological conditions Muffin has and his "virginity" in discovering all types of feelings and experiences, it makes it hard to judge others and make predictions plot-wise. Muffin is mad, broken, if he feels like doing something, he will do it - and you cannot predict what a mad man will do, can you?
What I find intriguing so far in 'Matthew' is your decision to attempt a relationship between Vicenzo and Muffin. Every reaction Muffin had was so different from I expected. Sincerely, at first, I was like 'Muffin has to end up with Asher, so he cannot accept Vicenzo advances and flirts', but the way you presented their fling builds on the 'how realistic Muffin world is'. In real life, you don't have the certainty of the next day, so you cannot wait an indefinite time for something you deem impossible to happen, so why not take advantage of the tangible situation happening before you? Muffin had no certainty that Asher would forgive him, and he pretty much thought they would never meet again. Plus, he had a good opinion of Vicenzo who also confessed his attraction, so why not consider it? It was a benefit-vs-cost situation, and it would have certainly been in Muffin's benefit to heal his past wounds with Vincezo's help, rather than wait for an impossible love to happen.
Is there a limit of words you can write? I want to say so much more because the story had a great impact on me. There is one more thing that I liked very much and it is worth mentioning. The story's fluidity was also given by the fact there were no disconnections, no pauses, no "after x hours, y days, z weeks". That moment in the call booth has remained engraved in my mind, when Muffin said something like "do you know that moment in movies when they cut the scene because the story is way to embarrassing? That is something I would like to have in real life". Anyway, it was something along those lines, and I appreciated it so much. Lastly, you inspired me. After giving up on writing some years ago, I finally found some kind of desire to do it again. Thank you so much for this great work. Keep it up! :)

Thank you for the exciting update!! My brain was overwhelmed by everything going on.. but I do wonder, what did Asher do to his cousin to warrant such retaliation?

Sad that Matt is going to end up with Asher. Vincenzo and Matt have so much more chemistry than Asher and Matt. However, so far through Muffin and Matthew, all the characters in these stories are dumb as rocks for not killing Matt when he showed to be a liability at the midpoint of "Muffin." Unfortunately, now i'm just reading through this story to see how it ends I should have stopped after the second chapter of "Muffin" with how unlikable and unpleasant of a character Matt is, its sad that this character isn't written for irony purposes because he's just a characture of everything wrong with this sort of fanficy mentality in writing.
