Thank you for that - it was most thoroughly amusing. And the last line... priceless.

Okay, it was off to a heartwarming start and then you made me laugh my fool ass off. Starting out with your usual thoughtful and intriguing descriptions are always great, but this time your tweest was amazing. Thanks for the terrific shift (or tear in the time-space continuum) of perspective.

Those darn zombies! They're never up to any good, the rascals! I have to say, the ambient in the story is pretty well set, you never know it's about a zombie apocalypse until the very end (though the title itself is a good hint). I can definitely get a good feeling for Josh and Gwen's personalities, from their thoughts on gardening and plants. It speaks a lot about them if you pick up on the details. There's a bit of repetition at the beginning but it's pretty hard to notice, so no fuss there. As usual, impeccable research, this time on evergreen plants and Australian weather (and the kind of gardening that would prosper there). I always enjoy reading your stories because I never know what awesome bits of knowledge I'm going to pick up. I was rather curious about the nature of the zombies, who seem to be so different from the ones you see everywhere else! Brownie points for originality there. Excellent work as usual!

Nasty zombies, their just so messy and fall apart so easily. I wouldn't want'em in my neighborhood either. Cute story, they weren't the pest expecting LOL G

"What the hell do you want an orange for?" Laughing out loud here! Great non-seasonal interpretation of the evergreens! Loved it! Thanks for sharing, PW

I love zombies! I liked how the story started out so normal and then BAM zombie time! I also enjoyed the old man's response to the zombies, instead of the normal screaming and running away. Very funny!

Wonderful! I certainly didn't expect the pests to be quite that... pestilential. And here I am, complaining about the blue jay that insists on burying peanuts in my planters. :D

ROFL! Talk about a twist and a half! I should have gotten a hint from the title, but still! I'd say that's a neighborhood gone to hell :D
