Snickering like the madwoman I am. "You shot my chicken!" "It's a turkey!" Somehow, I totally bought the premise. Most excellent use of the prompt for mayhem! Thanks for sharing, PW

If it had been an LAPD officer, he'd have found something to charge the Turkey with.

I liked the wry reminicising of this story, and it certainly seems like something that happened, and was actually being recounted.

ROFL! I can see it now... the gobbling, the hand turkey drawings etc! Cute!

" shots had been fired and we now had a turkey fatality" right about there is when my coffee went THROUGH my nose. LOL

Hahahah, now this was hilarious! Exceedingly well-researched, as I've come to expect from you (and from only two stories, too). It was very funny to read the little adventure, and especially the banter with the idiot who thought it was a chicken! Heh, those nicknames sure stick. Awesomely written!

It's a great mood and great set-up. The first-person gave it a great tone, very real without being overly gritty. I also like that Crompton seems to feel more dread when over being razzed about the turkey than when he was nervous about getting up to the rooftop in the first place. Of course, from the way he overreacted I'd say that there really was a bit of a chicken on that rooftop too. :)

This made me laugh! You did very well! I love the style you used to write this. And it surprises me that anyone could be dumb enough to mistaken a turkey for a chicken. That one guy must have been a hell of a salesman!
