Damn zombies. They just have to ruin everything, even a decent cup of coffee.

10. Evergreen

So zombies prefer brains seasoned with caffeine? Well, that could help them move a little faster.

The story itself gave a good sense of the background, being a zombie-infested worlds where the living had to sneak around and hide their hangouts. But I hate to admit that I was a bit lost by the direction: I'm a bit confused by where they were going when they went "through" the place and where the gate was (to the patio?).

Also, it seemed weird that the zombies go the jump on the protagonist so easily? Were the patrons (and the friend) actually zombies to begin with?

With all of that plus the oak trees smelling of pine I feel like there is a coherent story there, but I simply don't get it. Perhaps you could have used more of your words to clarify a few things about what was happening then. (You had a lot left.)

I apologize now, as I am reviewing post wine... However I love the fact that we have random zombies and evergreen scented pines! See! This is what setting off the apocalypse does people!

Evergreen: Hahahahahah, now that's a pretty awesome twist (and a pretty awesome dream, too!). What is it with evergreen and zombies? Heh, I guess it's the season. I loved how it really does sound like a dream, though it still makes sense to the reader and it's pretty readable. Lovely imagery and use of narration. Dream logic is always fun to observe. Sounds like you had fun with this prompt!

More zombies! I have a feeling I may not get past Christmas this year without casting suspicious glances at anything that looks like evergreens! :D

Latte and the undead... this sounds like my local Starbucks! I love it!

(1) Insane Harvest: This was brilliant, really! You crammed a whole lot of menace into 140 characters, and I'm in awe.

(2) Tradition Made Me Do It: Oh, gods, I love this dog... really!

(3) The Cornucopia Doesn't Go There: Oh! Eeep? LOL! I'm having all sorts of issues with baskets at the moment, which may not be a bad thing...

(4) Stuffing Multiple Turkeys: I did not quite expect this to end as it did! LOL! I had pretty much guessed there was as turkey being stuffed, but oh, you wicked thing, that was awesome!

(5) S'no Traps Here: Did I say that I love this dog? Because I do. Seriously!

These were all brilliant, and I'm absolutely in awe of how you can cram so much into such short works. That's so hard for me to do, and you make it seem effortless, or at least that's the way it seems. Terrific!

ROFL - Nice continuation from earlier prompts! Poor Tradition... He just can't do anything right, can he?

The dog returns in mention! That's a great bit alone. Surely a spin off series for Tradition must be in the works? :D

I've been ruined by internet memes though. I wondered if it would be a different type of "trap" entirely...

Snow: And with that, a young boy's life reaches a tragic end. Morbidly replay it on tonight's news!

LOL, no, seriously, really funny story, got me a chuckle in the end. Especially in 140 characters! That was a commendable work! I wonder if Tradition is going to keep mucking up their owner's lives? Strikes me as a very naughty dog. :D
