Chapter 24

The feeling of foreboding running through Aine's words is a brilliant foil to Connor's love and devotion. I will confess to dreading what might come for both their sake.

As beautifully done as ever, dear Witch!

For a story of a survival, it seems to have an elegiac feel to it.

Very nice depiction of weather as the villain. We tend to forget that people haven't always been able to plug-in to get warmer, it was much harder even outside disaster.

Chapter 22

I was on the edge of my seat reading this, and worrying for Connor along with Aine. Once again, your writing is so perfectly evocative of mood and place that I could feel the warmth of the fire and the chill of Connor's skin.

Simply gorgeous, and I'll be on edge until the next chapter.

Thank the gods, Connor is at least relatively in one piece. His submission is so graceful and natural, and Aine is right to take pride in him, lovely lad that he is. And for his sake, she invokes her power. Lovely, just lovely!

Season

Bunnies are good. We thank the bunnies for that lovely quiet moment, with all its undertones of foreboding. I find myself dreading the change of season, and yet eager to see what you have in store. Simply exquisite, PW!

Powdery - I wasn't sure if Connor would make it into this drabble, but there he was, cheerfully banking away :p. You're really getting into tradition with an old pestle/mortar combo. Nice continuation.

Hooray, Aine has returned to us! And such a lovely return as well, with all the promise that Beltane brings. Lovely!

Kings - He'd (could it be Connor?) probably want to hope the old ways previously referenced aren't from as far back as the "have a king for a year and then sacrifice him" period :D

It's great to see more for the story, and, sure, you got mysterious foreshadowing here but I don't think it gives the ending away - at least, I can't fully see where all the strands might tie :)
