Stockholm syndrome is portrayed very well in this work. There's an unconventional appeal to it, despite being quite dark and gritty. Well done. I'll be keeping an eye out for updates.

wow, this story even makes me feel like I am as trapped as this poor boy. Very well written, my friend. But damn! His life sucks so much for him! Is it too much to request a happy ending? Maybe Joey's brother figures stuff out and saves him. And with a lot of therapy, he can return to some semblance of a normal happy life?

I really like this story. It's so...I dunno how to describe it. I usually don't like kidnap scenarios, but this one, it's just different. It's unique, and I like how conflicted Mark, or "Aiden," is. Is he really delusioned due to Joey, or is he in love? I think, putting myself in his situation, I would feel the same.
Honestly, this is a beautiful story. In a cynical way. I would love to read more.

it's heartbreaking to witness how he's being brainwashed and how he slowly fades into someone who's not living life, but barely exists.
at this point there's only hope that somebody will finally come to his aid, since he's no more able to fairly judge his situation. Jeffrey seemed to be genuitely interested in seeing through this supposed relationship. where did he go?? just as in real world, often people are not really interested in someone else's hardships. it's disturbing how you could happen to walk in a crowd feeling lost and in need of help and absolutely no-one will really look at you (unless you're badly hurt), just because you're a total stranger and your fate isn't of their concern.
since you started the story dramatically, hope it'll at least have a happy ending.

This story is crazy, sick, and scary, and yet I love it! Never have I read a story were I was so scared for the victim! Maybe because it seems so realistic and quite possibly could very well happen to ANYONE AND ANYBODY!! This man Joey is totally delusional and psychotic, I feel so sorry for Mark I could just cry. Matter of fact I was on the verge of crying while typing this, it's that disturbing for me to push me to that state. Which can only mean you have a truly gripping story on your hands, and I know this is a dark fic an all but will this story have a silver lining near the end meaning will he be finally rescued. I mean his family couldn't have given up all hope of finding him! It looks like he's getting well into his (and please correct me if I'm wrong on the name of it) Stockholm syndrome.

I check back all the time to see if you have updated.
This is by far one of the most interesting and well written stories I've read on here.
Do I have to beg for more? Because I will.

your knowledge of the human psyche makes this story that much better! I can't wait for more! I want to know if Mark (yes I refuse to call him Adrian) will get out of his terrible situation. I am kinda hoping he will, but I also accept that not all stories have happy endings, like life. But hey, maybe the brother will notice something very wrong with their relationship and find out the truth....and then help Mark. I share your fascination with these type of fics. XP Anyways, I'll be checking back for more, keep up the good work!
