This was really a bitter story if Mark had stayed in love with Joey I wouldn't have been able to cope with the story. It's just sad that Joey bestowed Mark this nasty gift and I'm glad that Mark started peeking up his life.
I was so frustrated when he phoned home and his parents had moved. That was really devastating the first time he tried to contact his parents and the were not available.
Thanks for the story.
If you haven't watch 'The Skin I Live In' you should it's right up your alley.

I love this story. At first I really really hated Joey (it would be weird if i liked him at first), but threw out the story more toward the later chapters i started to really like him. He seemed so sweet and caring. Like when he got Mark/Aiden Max. Don't get me wrong, Joey had his bad days but still. When we learn about what all their father did to Joey we can understand him more; and feel sorry for him. It kind of broke my heart to hear about the real Aiden and Joey. That was so sad. Then you tell us that Joey had HIV... well... only i could think of that went threw my head was "well, shit. that sucks.) I'm sad to see the story come to an end. Maybe you could do a little side story of Mark and Skyler together? *puppy eyes* I don't know, I feel like i just need closer or something. I think if i read a side story about a few years from now on how Mark and Skyler are doing and such ... i don't know. I really love your work!! thank you for sharing your stories with us!

Wow. Just wow. This story was absolutely heartbreaking in its core. You did such a fantastic job in letting us see into Mark/Aiden's predicament that it felt like you were the one in their place, feeling the same things. How messed up one can become when placed in that situation... it's insane. His thoughts especially hit hard for me. It felt like I was suffocating along with him, seeing how much suppressed he was in that life. It just really hit it home, ya know?
I'm sure it must have been hard for you to write this and really, I applaud you for being such an amazing author to be able to write all of this.
I'm not gonna lie when I say I actually cried at some parts. All of the characters were well written and believable. There were parts that left me some questions like why Mark's parents moved and why wasn't Joey locked up in the end. I think the part where he wasn't pressed for charges was a little bit too unrealistic but the ending made up for it. I especially love the ending, (it had in me in tears!!) and I was very happy and glad that Mark was taking the steps to getting better. It did make me sad that he would still have a short life with him being infected with HIV. Another reminded of his past. Poor boy.
I'm glad he has Skyler in the end who is able to understand him, and a doctor who was able to understand him and stick with him in the end. I'm sad that in the end he wasn't able to get back to being with his parents to how it was before.
Like I said before, you're an amazing author. This was a wonderfully written story and I hope you continue writing. I look forward to reading other stories from you! <3
