I'm shocked at the lack of reviews for this. It's certainly deserving of good ones. I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end. Reading things from Dan's POV was refreshing. Most things in this vein that I've read come from the opposite view. Wonderful plot, characters that draw you in and you can't help but empathize with and a style with a good flow. My only complaint? I wish there was more!

Holy crap, this story is absolutely amazing. This is one of the hottest, most well written slash originals that I've read. I really hope that you continue this!! :)

That was brilliant and I really liked how it ended up. Thank you for a great one-shot.

Wow, what a story! It took me over a day to read it! (unfortunately, I couldn't read it straight thru) The main character, Daniel Marnes, certainly wasn't nice in the conventional sense, but he did have emotions and feelings for Gilbert. I felt bad for Gilbert; he was definitely taken advantage of.

I also didn't see the Marnes Corp. being engulfed in flames, coming! That was pretty sad, Daniel lost the company, but most of all, he lost his father. On the other hand, probably for the first time in his life, he could find out who HE really was.

Very interesting story; I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I do have one criticism tho: I mentioned this in another story you wrote. Your paragraphs are really long and it takes time to get through the paragraph. Maybe if you broke the paragraph up it would read better. Just a thought.

Anyway, great story; I'm looking forward to reading more from you; you're a very talented writer!

What an interesting story! While I can't say that I would consider the main character a likable man, his perspective was certainly fascinating. I liked that you were able to create a world through subtle details, culminating in the social unraveling at the end.

Great job.
