I loved that opening scene. What a way to introduce the character! The paradoxical concern about STDs while fucking bareback in an airport bathroom stall lends him a realism that is a lot more charming than it logically should be, and really sets the tone for who he is throughout the story. It makes me want to find out more about this person, and see what's going to happen to him, before I even know what the story is about.
There's also something about his "voice" that I just really enjoyed. At least once a chapter, he had me laughing out loud. :)
As for the ending... Well, it was perfect. Sooooooo much better than the standard happily ever after.

I loved this story! Thought the ending was great (in that true horror-creepy but amusing "you haven't seen the last of me yet" way!) Thanks for sharing this great fic ;D

Man I totally loved this completely f##ed up story. Though I loved Cain, Jude was by far my favorite character!

Peter had sex with his daughter, gave birth to jude, who looks just like him at 16. He wanted to then fuck jude, his son/grandson, after swapping his soul with the soul of his dead lover, and making the body immortal. So basically he wanted to fuck people who looked like him- narcissism? Peter's daughter also was either in love with charles too, or simply didn't care about her kids at all as she gave them up to become mini charles. Cain's father is never mentioned and considered unimportant to the story. Jude is Cain's half brother.
For some reason Stiles looks like an Avery- ie Charle's Avery. We are given to assume this is just a coincidence- that when Peter heard about a kid who was kicked out of an indian preserve for murder, he said "hey, that looks like charle's! I'll experiement on him". The experiments on stiles did not work, but they didn't burn and disfigure him either. They created a twisted sort of stockholm syndrome. Stiles is a creepy motherfucker, and I want to beat him up- but that observation isn't relevant, I suppose. Stiles finally killed peter after Nana convinced him it was the right thing to do. Nana didn't think to kill herself using the same method she did for Peter because she is a dumbass.
Stiles planned on doing whatever Nana told him to, to the heir- who he was jealous and envious of. He thought the heir was Jude, but couldn't get to Jude because the lines or the Charle's ghost kept him out or something. He didn't realize at first that Nana wanted him to kill the kid. Obviously, he had second feelings for the heir from the start. The whole town somehow found out that Cain was the heir, and so acted "normal" in order to lure him into a false sense of security until Nana told them that they had what would fix them. So they didn't attack until Lawrence freaked out.
Lawrence looks nothing like his father or Stiles, though for some reason Jude is important to him. I assume jude used the name avery because he was ashamed to admit his real last name.
For some reason, chemicals done to Cain affected a whole freakin city, and only that city.
