Interesting, but all your obvious influences are showing! Better to include character discriptions, mindsets, and motivation when the characters are interduced to the story. Revealing too much ahead of time, tells the reader where your heading with the story. I can never get enough dragons, so also I will read more of story just to see who Van ends up with romantical... or does she get turned into a dragon too? G
