Love the new chapter ^^

Oh, my guess: Nicky wore black and the latents thought he was a mage? If they do reject him though, at first sight, that's very, very curious. And the damage is horrifying; how is Nicky going to survive--what was it--seven years of service?
I'm also getting the impression that most latents are closer to their groomers than their mages; that Magnus is the exception, and that he enforces this in a really aggressive way (Mack seems intimidated?)
It's promising that Nicky is feeling some appreciation for Magnus...and I like how he realizes he has to lay his feelings for Darryl to rest. I like that he has those feelings.

I'm SO impressed with this new story.Ok, I'm a huge fan of yours already...lol But the plot here is so intruiging.And you've made me giggle, yes giggle like a schoolgirl, in so many places.It just cracks me up when Necko interacts with the computer !Now , I'm surprised, i usually get notices of your updates...Am I still in your mailing list ? aida.traore@yahoo.fr. I'm so happy that this is up! I read the first Nekolaus book and was instantly hooked, and had to re-read it constantly. I didn't even realize that there was a second one until I checked back. Squeeeeee, thank you soo much!

Well, when I was reading first ouple of schapters on aff (Cake) a few years ago I said to my self: wow, this person really likes to play fun games in her head.
Fortunately for me, she writes them down, so I can laugh too.
And smex is always coming...on time and very often.
So yay!
New story, have nothing smart to say about it for now.
I wonder how would you go about declawing Neko a bit, I still have no idea how hw looks like.
The last pairing that had this much smex fun was the one in "snowbunny" here on Aff.
But Kendell was a wolf and Leo was a tiger hahahahahaha

You never disappoint. I love this story. I can't wait to see what the other Latents are like...

This Chapter made me laugth. And even if we did not meet others latents, we have an idea of what they are like thanks to this wonderful computer. I wonder how long this thing will survive if it keep treating Neko like this!

Mack and Mother are fantastic. They really get the story going. Now I see Magnus keeping Nicky in his quarters in a different light. Yet Nicky seems to resist thinking that maybe Magnus had a good motive. (Well, Magnus made his first impression through a rape. Now he lies in that bed he made)

It makes me wonder just how much the behavior of Latents affects Magnus' approach to Nicky. Are Latents so brainwashed that they defer totally to Mages? Not to mention Groomers-- Mack was very touchy with Nicky though they'd just met. Like he thought Nicky would be easy to charm. That was a good tease for the upcoming reveal of the Latents!

I enjoyed how briskly Nicky put a stop to that. I love seeing him back on his feet. I also loved his active fantasy life and that he thinks about Grim. It's fun that he has a history on which to draw. It's so much more interesting than virgin characters with minimal social smarts. Also it's pleasant that you're keeping Grim "active" in this way, even though he's not in this story. Grim is a pretty interesting man. A bad-ass motherfucker who's as chatty in bed and at the dinner table as a chipper twink is, well, cool. And one that breaks Nicky's fingers for, what, snatching food without saying the magic word? That's different...but its consistent in my mind, because no matter what other dimensions the relationship had, Grim was all about being boss first. And maybe that's because Nicky would have walked all over him otherwise.

I wonder if Magnus worries that he could be sorry he ever saw Nicky, if he's not careful? Or is Magnus too arrogant? It is hard to see Magnus' inner life since Nicky is so resistent. But in a way this is kind of suspenseful, since this puts Magnus just beyond the reader's grasp. Sometimes I want Nicky to get closer just so I can get closer to Magnus. Yet Mister Mage is enough of a bastard that I support Nicky taking a hard stand. Another reason Mack is useful-- he shares information about Magnus, so the distance does not get too frustrating, and Nicky can go on being tough, suspicious, and having standards. Like he says, even children know the things he wants Magnus to learn...

And I am so excited we will meet the Latents and learn what they reveal about the Empire's approach to its citizens, to magic, to Nicky. Very glad to hear that you're writing easily at the moment!
