Disclaimer: I did thoroughly enjoy reading this and am really thankful to you for writing it. Also this is just my opinion, I could be wrong and anyway you may not care, but just in case you do:
So . . . this was odd.
The first Neko-laus felt . . . well pretty much just like that - it felt like a part one. Don't get me wrong, it was wonderful and I enjoyed every second of reading it but nothing was resolved by the end of it. There was no giant conflict, no huge obstacle to get over, there was no major arching plot driving it forward. So then the natural solution for books that don't have an external focus is for the point to become Nicky and Magnus's relationship, except that wasn't how the plot felt with such a wonderful world and all of the details and the attention given to the city, the other people, the magic etc. So it didn't feel like a romance novel, with the world around the characters just being an excuse for them to have sex, but it didn't really have a driving force behind it either so I was expecting that the plot would really start after Nicky's agreed to put up with Magnus and they start using magic together - like part one was Harry getting to Hogwarts and then things really start happening.
So the first Neko-laus felt like a beginning, a wonderful thrilling beginning with amazing characters that completely had me hooked and I couldn't wait to get more of.
This then felt like a different set, a different story. It was, for lack of a wider vocabulary, odd. It felt like you'd started the story with a set of characters that had the same history but that weren't the same characters. Like you'd handed a description of the characters to someone else and then they'd started writing. I appreciate that we should be getting to know them in a different way and different aspects of them should be opening up but this felt like more of a change, a disconnect. It was still fun to read it just didn't feel as blindingly brilliant as the first one.
Your Mangnus changed. A lot. I feel like he had a lot more spark, or moxy if you will (and I love you soooo much for actually using that word!) in 1, whereas in 2 he kind of lost that. And Nicky was more self-sufficient and more of a fighter in 1 than in 2. Ooooo actually it felt like you transitioned from writing in a way that showed they had those qualities in 1, to writing that they had those qualities in 2.
I think a lot a little details probably contributed to that too - things like Magnus being a virgin when Nicky very definitely fucked him in the first fic, the fact that apparently Nicky's now terrible at hiding what he's thinking when if that were true he'd have been dead a long time ago and never made it anywhere close to the leader of a gang. The fact that Nicky realises Magnus's never had any training and despite the fact that a) he has had some and b) this situation is a direct threat to his life, he makes no attempt to teach him. Or the fact that Magnus has a bit of an issue with authority in 1 but that twists into something weird that makes him lose all of his Magnuseyness in 2.
So basically it was fun, but it was just ok whereas the first was amazing (in my opinion).

OHMYGOD
this was THE AWESOME *caplocks cannot contain my fangirling joy*
What a breath-taking shivers-inducing end of book 2 (or whatever this is). This seriously made my week and totally caught me off guard. I mean, like, WOAH, this was INTENSE. The quite-surprising turn with the soldiers (who would have thought they were after Nicky?), that the tigers are officially off the hook as they're "dead" and that bringing back Nicky is top priority.
That he is the prize for the next King Tiger...pft, seriously, as if anyone would ever be King Tiger besides Maggie-boy ;) Although I am quite looking forward to meeting those other tiger boys *innocent whistle*
That Mackie is in tears about Neko had me going all awww on him, yet again, because HE NEEDS MORE LOVING :DD I do hope that Neko will not suddenly drop dead from the chip fluid things inside his cortex?!? evil person you, spouting that tidbit and then leaving us hanging and "forgetting" about it!! *runs around*
I adore the way you introduced the wild-characters, how they think Neko's a prince even though he killed the king and are fighting tooth and nail to treat him like one. As if Neko would consent to wearing a crown and sitting on a throne wearing some stupid costume :D Although I can totally see him agreeing if he thinks he can better protect Mags and Wendy (because SO MUCH love for Wendy ^^ he really needs to find someone because as much as I'm all for putting him with Neko and Mags I think he would forever be second, at least to one of them be it Mags or Neko, and he deserves more, my heart ached when he was not there in the end with Nicky and Mags especially as he is terribly weak and wounded right now)...ohhh, the plot bunnies inside my head are having one huge orgy XDD
I love how Nicky is torn between running to his ma and killing her for hurting his shiny boy toys XD I hurt with his conflict because I completely understand this need to just go and hug your mum RIGHT NOW because you finally see her again, and with how he never thought he'd see her again...
but aside from all that - sweet jesus on a pogo stick! NICKY HAVE YOU REALLY NOT SEEN MAG'S DEVOTION TO YOU BECAUSE OMG AN OBJECTIVE TODDLER ON THE STREET WOULD TELL YOU HE'D KILL HIMSELF IF YOU ASKED HIM TO
I remember this scene where Nicky goes like "if you don't know it by now [on the subject of making Maggie his] then I'm not doing it right". RIGHT BACK IN YOUR FACE MISTER, I mean he could not really be seriously surprised by this confession, right? btw, SO much love for Maggie in that moment, I think my heart burst :)))) *loves a good serious-love scene* and boy, that confession and so easily said *has hearts in her eyes*
yeahhhh, enough random babbling you have probably heard a zillion times before. Awesome, perfect job, not only on this last captivating chapter but on the whole second installment of this story. I shall re-read the first part and this until you start posting the third one :))))
*is happily, totally patiently (cough cough) waiting for part 3 which is soooo going to rock*
much love for creating this verse and these characters and the general awesomeness of the story writing :)

Well damn. I loved this story. I can hardly wait for the next act. I had to re-read act 1 & 2 before I read the last chapter. I'm glad that I did. This is an amazing arch. Please continue the next act soon.
