The birthday presents, I felt, added an interesting touch of nostalgia, at least the ones I recognized from Business Party and, of course, pony rides. It had a real old-boys feel to it, with the get-together of Banks' closest associates (was the judge there, I wonder, or perhaps the man with the yellow tie?) but it still felt properly like a Noah story.
I do wish that Noah would have had a few more words, or perhaps thoughts, but I think, as a transition towards Banks' emergence as a more fully-featured character, maybe having Noah as the silt protagonist every now and again is a wise, long-term idea. Who's to say?
