This is fantastic! I found this story through the slash pile and I'm so glad I did! The world you've created is amazing and I like how you havent described it in big dumps - you've woven it all into the story, along with the character development. As the stories unfolded, you've given us more and more hints of the two MCs until I now feel like I really know the two of them. And I LOVE Gerulf. His character is just beautiful. I love how he's so humble and a bit of a teddybear underneath his scarred exterior (yet he can still show a rough side!). The romance between the two is perfect and you've truly shown how much they care about each other, rather than just telling. I quite like how you haven't mentioned anything about love, but rather described it.
I'm quite new at this site so I was wondering if there was a way to put this story on alert, so I'd know when you'd update? I know you put updates on your tumblr but I'm afraid I'd miss it and that would just be terrible.
Anyway, LOVING your story, I can't tell you how much. Your creativity is ridiculous and your writing flows so beautifully! I could go on for ages :) can't wait to find out what's going to be revealed next!

Well, I'll be. I had thought you'd given up on this story. I kept checking, though. I'm very invested. LOL. Anyway thanks for the update. Why did the coin and Jarek looking like the King make him uneasy? Another mystery? Goody. So will we get another chapter before....say Labor Day? LOL.

Yay! An update!! I must've checked for an update every other day and now it's here! :) Thanks for continuing and I figured the romance would be on hold since the circumstances are coming to a head. Can't wait for the next chapter and really love reading this story! :)

Have been re-reading this wonderful story and hoping you're still planning to continue it. I love the progression of the relationship between Mihai and Gerulf, and can't wait until Mihai learns to cope outside this stifling palace.

I have WOLFED DOWN all 22 chapters at one go, and I am enthralled by this story. I think what I like best is the character of Gerulf, who's full of terrific notes and quirks; his soldier-like neatness; his straightforward manners; his easy rapport with servants and nobles alike; and the way he wins over Mihai, who for many reasons is very much an insecure boy. I'll now be looking up for your updates eagerly! (I also see you have an AO3 account: if you posted the story there at week, it would be downloaded as an eBook...)

Anyway, brava for such a convincing universe, and such an exciting mystery. Of course what the country needs is for Mihai to rule, but I suspect you've got a lot of terrifyingly angsty adventures planned for him and Gerulf before, which will give him the experience he needs?

It was so nice to see Gerulf and Mihai together, making love and trusting each other. I wish this moment would never end. I love Mihai and I wish he could be happy and smiling forever. I am kind of worried about Mihai going to see Jarek because I sense that Jarek has dangerous intentions towards Mihai. I wish I knew what power Prince Jarek holds over the queen that prevents her from seeing Mihai. I just feel so nervous about evreything right now, I can't wait to see what happens next.
