I bet I know who's at the door now - it wouldn't be dear mom-ln-law, would it, either to bitch and yell to Abbey, or to apologize to Ben....hmmmm, which one, I don't know......

Thank God Derrick is ok. I'm glad Ben is giving Alex another chance; after all, we all think stupid things and do stupid things when we're younger. And family is family....except of course for the devil mom-in-law! hahahha

Ok, before I forget: there were two errors I saw, just in case you wanted to go back and edit the story (I never saw a need for this, but I know some authors do that). When Ben was explaining to Irene about him and Derrick being discreet is the word you wanted to use, not desecrate. Desecrate is when someone, for example, would be to do physical harm to something sacred. Like drawing graffiti on the front of a church.

And somewhere towards the end of the chapter, you said loose when it should have been lose. A lot of people confuse the two.

Anyway, ok, now on to the review: what a powerful chapter! Poor Ben! I personally think he should have waited for Abby to join him when confronting his mother-in-law. What a royal BITCH Irene is!!! Ok, I know people of her generation don't normally agree with other "alternate" lifestyles and whatnot, they were brought up completely different from the way people are brought up today. They fear anything different and out of the ordinary. But you wrote her so well! I commend you! I wanted to throw my computer at her and smack her upside her bigoted head!!!! I think she's going to be very disappointed and very sorry to realize that she's going to push Abby away with her homophobic and bigoted attitude.

As for Alex and Nikki, I agree w/Ben,but also disagree w/him. I think Alex deserves another chance. He was just a kid nine years ago. He was probably afraid of going against his homophobic parents (what horrible people they are). I give him a lot of credit for apologizing to Ben and wanting to resume a relationship with him. I think Ben should give his brother another chance. They are brothers after all, and nine years have passed, let the past be the past and move on from there. Alex apologized, he's your brother, make up and be in his life again. I know, I probably would feel the same way as Ben, if my sister had called me all these horrible names. But it was NINE years ago, when he was young and stupid. He probably didn't even know Ben lived in that town to even look him up. I hope Ben puts the past behind him and resumes a relationship w/Alex.

All in all, this was a FANTASTIC chapter! Can't wait for the next one; I hope Derrick's ok!

Hey I just wanted to leave a quick comment. I do enjoy reading your story and it is fairly well written. My only criticism would be that the friends seem so similar. When Derrick was telling his friend about it, they asked the same questions and where given very similar answers. I felt like they were the same person with different names. I would like to read more about how Abby is handling everything. It was addressed in the chapter before this one but was not brought up again. Tis driving me crazy. Please keep the writing coming, I love it. :D

Good for Rich for being so open minded! I'm not sure how Abby's mom is gonna react. You know, the older generation is not as accepting as younger generations. I just hope it goes well.

I just started your story. Ben is very lucky to have Abby for a wife. I would be busy strangling my own husband if he wanted a gay partner. I'm so mean. LOL. I am really enjoying the story so far. I just finished chapter 2 so I am eager to see how this arrangement will work for Derrick and Ben and Abby.

That's sweet, writing this story for a friend. I actually don't know any gay men, altho I do know a few high school seniors who are gay. Actually, come to think of it, our high school has a lot of gay boys.

Yes, I can imagine that if your preference is for one gender, but you're living a life w/the other gender, you would be miserable. Not being able to live the way you want to live, with whom you want to live, is very depressing. These guys you know, I imagine their wives know of their feelings? Why would these women hold their children back from their fathers? If they got divorced, why would the ex-wives not let them see their children? I don't understand that.

Anyway, this chapter was good. Derrick finally realized what love is! Yay! I think I'd be really embarrassed if I were Abby! But she handled it really well!

They all seem pretty mature about all of this and hopefully it'll all work out and no one will get hurt!

I just finished chapter7 and I am feeling sorry for Abby. I think she has been trying her best. She did not really have a choice since Ben wanted a divorce. I can understand that she probably hoped he would have a few flings and get the manlust out of his system. I hope Ben appreciates that she is going above and beyond the role of being a loving and supportive wife. She is treating him like a king. So I don't think he should be so angry with Abby as she was only hoping for the best outcome for her marriage. I really love this story. I was afraid to read it because I knew that there would be a lot of pain involved, but it is so well written and well thought out. I am really loving it. I hope Ben does not leave Abby sad and lonely for the night. That would break her heart to be tossed aside just like that. Now we know how those polygamist wives feel.

OMG, so funny you updated! I was just thinking of this story this morning! So, does Derrick really think he's falling for Abby? That's kinda strange, tho, isn't he totally gay?

I wonder what Abby will think?
