Great beginning. Original is so much fun to read. Your especially, since I can't see over-used fantasy elements. Good sentance structure, no reliance on 'to be'. Interesting beginning scene, in the violated stronghold of the enemy, making it function for the invaders. These names don't trip the eye, either, and as a plus, aren't Japanese. ;-) I look forward to reading more of this.
