i don't really know what the open letter is about. and i'm just going to read the story once i get there ^^
but i wanted to say that it's very cool that you even bother learning english. and i know it's hard to learn a language not only while having a life to attend to, but also by yourself. keep going!
btw your art's pretty, too. very colorful XD

Oh, wow it's been a long time! I'm not sure if you'd remember me, but I was one of your reviewers for 'Thee Road Less Traveled'(the one who first requested a character chart :D ).
I'm attending college now so I haven't had much reading time and to be honest, I'm going to have to re-read your first story from the begining! ^^'
It had been so long since you updated and I've been otherwise preoccupied that I have forgotten much of what was happening.
I did find time to read this lovely tale though, and can't help but be awed! I can easily say that I love it, though a little fast paced on the love scene (not that I'm complaining *laughs*)
I also read your opening letter and would like to offer my services as a beta should you need one. My first and sadly, only language is english, but I would still like to help if possible (even if said help is limited to weekends ^^'). I'll be the first to admit my grammer's not 100% perfect and that I have never been a beta, but I would try my best for the sake of a good story! :) At the very least, I can clean up some of the sentences :p
If your interested please say so in the next chapter and I'll create an g-mail (google mail) and send the address to you. If not I don't wanna create something that I wont use otherwise :D
Whatever happends, I do wanna let you know that I really enjoy your storys, so thankyou for putting the time and effort into them, it really does show belive it or not ;p
Here's waiting for the next chapter, until then! ~Passing Reader

I wish you had spoken to me through email but this will have to do I guess.
I'm sorry if I seemed to be telling you to give up or stop writing, that was not my intention at all. English is my second language as well and you're very good considering you're self-taught in English. I only meant to suggest you get someone to go over your writing and yes, I did come off too strongly for I'm afraid you caught me in a rather bad mood. And honestly, I think that *all* writers should have betas (though I know that's rather impossible), for everyone misses mistakes here and there, even those whose native language is English (actually, they tend to irritate me way more than those with another first language). There's no shame in asking for a beta, a beta is a really good thing. I remember seeing a thread somewhere (I think in fictionpress.com) where people volunteered to be betas.
I apologize for my rudeness and I feel really bad for making you quit your stories... I just felt it was a shame that a story I liked was probably not getting all the readers it could get because of your admittedly not-perfect grammar. I'm really sorry.
I left my email in case you wished to say anything more to me.

I speak english and noticed the mistakes but got what you meant anyways and I realize no one on this site claims to be a professional writer XD God what do they expect from you!! But with your talent I would really hate to see you stop writinng. so if you want me to look over them my email is princess.of.anime@hotmail.com

If you want a proper beta I'd do it.... :) I already beta for amber79, please don't take them all down, I love your stories, and yes, sometimes grammar etc isn't great but I like the story so I pick through it because I know it isn't your first language.

I am really sad to hear you are taking down the stories i was really enjoying them and as a native English speaker i am sad that someone has nit picked about grammar there are alot of native English speakers that make grammar mistakes and I get really annoyed at people who nit pick about that as i get people that do that to me everyone makes mistakes with grammar and as a none native speaker i think it is great that you want to write your stories in English i am sad to say i do not read German and if you put them up in German i will not be able to read them so if you could let me know if you will be posting them anywhere else in English i would be much appreciative.

I know you said you're from Germany so I'm giving you some leeway here but still, you have to get yourself a beta, someone who's a lot better in English than you are. You chose to write in English so you should respect the language enough to do it justice, even if that means having someone very good in English go over what you write. I caught a lot of mistakes, for example 'he stood out of the crowd' should be 'he stood out from the crowd' (actually the whole sentence was pretty much wrong but I can't be bothered to correct it all) and I also think you meant to write 'planet' instead of 'planned'... two *very* different meanings to these words... if you aren't sure if you're writing the right word try googling it. There are a lot of good web-dictionaries that come up if you do.
I haven't even read the whole first chapter so I don't know if you got yourself a beta in the later chapters but if you did then I recommend that you have her/him go over the first chapters as well and repost them... as in, put up a second version of the story. A lot of new readers are scared away by the bad grammar and the old ones will appreciate your effort at improving yourself and your writing.
I feel like I'm turning into a witch here since lately I keep giving reviews where I rant about people's bad points, especially grammar and spelling mistakes, but my patience concerning bad grammar is just running out...
I'll try reading some more of this story since I do like what I've read so far (which, granted, isn't very much) but I'm afraid I'm one of those people who get scared away by bad grammar...
Cheers,
NightBird
