Finally Mikhael talked to poor Selix about his feelings,I´m very curious
what will happen now between these two...:)
I really enjoy these little fights between Conner and Darius,especially when they end in hot sexual
intercourses...hehe.
But I`m really disappointed about the things Vesperien said to Connor about the raid.
Calling it a few casualties,and only 30 people died...that was sad.
And I still can`t see Conner as a pet...!!!:)

Yay! I knew that was going to happen! And it did them both some good. Connor needs to do something constructive with his hatred and Vesperian needs to understand that slavery is not just feeding and housing unpaid workers. And that nothing, even a comfortable home and work ethic can replace freedom. They're really good for each other.
Can't wait for the next chapter!!

I agree that Mikhael is in a tough position when it comes to dealing with slaves. He admirably will not allow himself to consider Selix a brainless pet, but also can't trust that Selix's "decision" to serve him is really his own. His dislike seems to be more from the gut, a distaste for what he sees as fake, but it's there. I don't think he's trying to have it "both ways" with respect to slaves' decision making. A slave's ability to make decisions has nothing to do with his intelligence. Selix has been brainwashed from a young age to consider himself and his world a certain way, and I think Mikhael is right to feel uncomfortable. He has the privilege of letting Selix make choices for himself, but he seems to understand that as long as the master-slave dichotomy is there, Selix will never be able to *truly* consent.

Then comes the natural unhappiness on the part of the extremely willing slave who can't figure out what he's doing wrong. And then more angst and discomfort as the master's knowledge of the inequality is pitted against the knowledge that he will make his slave happy, if not free, by letting him serve. The reluctant master scenario is almost as good as the reluctant slave scenario (or, really, the pissed off and violent not-a-slave-thank-you-very-much), and I love how you've juxtaposed them. :-)

Selix you minx! Mikhael won't know what hit him ^_^ Looking forward to more Vesperian/Connor now.

I find Selix difficult, or pets like him in general.
If I were Mikhael, I'd have given him away and find myself a "real" lover.
Seriously, if he's opposed to the odea of trained pets, human beings whose sole intention it is to please, having one would technically not work for him.
Yes, it does make Selix honestly happy to please his master, but that is *exactly* what bothers Mikhael, isn't it?

Meh, might just be my preference for Connor talking though. XD

Fourth of July treat! A whole heaping helping of Selix in seduction mode. Mikhael is going to have Selix chasing him all over the house now. The two of them are so cute together. I hope Mikhael will be able to deal with the idea that Selix really does want to be with him. I am eager to see what happens.
