MPreg, well I'm glad there's none, well to be honest I'd go with it if it was Jeffrey that's carrying*laughs*

Anyway, when will stupid Geo fALL for Jeffrey.
Btw. calling my fav chara in the story Jeffrey sounds so lame.
He should have a cool name.
haahaha but maybe that is the magic.
ordinary name, and a special guy.

everytime you mention Chauncey i have to LOL because his name is so....well, it rhymes with poncy....so.....

haha. Chauncey chauncey chauncey chauncey.......argh. his name makes me giggle.

AWESOME chapter! I expected maybe Chuck would've wanted George to join the resistance, as kind of a bait that gets other vampires killed when they fight over him, but no, it turns out there's a more reasonable/viable explanation in this world, which is to give him back to the vampires. I like how the mechanics of your world works out. It's so realistic.

and i love the twist where George chooses Chauncey instead of looking through the database!! I did not expect chauncey to be such a prominent figure in George's mind.

Anyway, I enjoyed reading this chapter! I can't wait to see what happens next!

it's alright, waiting just makes the heart grow fonder :) And I am oh so fond of Jeffy! also, Chuck has kinda sorta been corrupted..not in a horrible way, but he's changed his motives and means to fit his movement. I think that's a common debate amongst all underground movements actually-stay the course or adapt. Very interesting chapter!! love it :D

Poor George, he thinks he's being saved by his hero and ends up tossed back into the vampire feeding pool. Is he going to make another disappearing act he's become so known for? OOoo can't wait til the next chapter!!! Haha and poor Wally, no sex in a sex club :(

Aww, Wally's getting the cold shoulder - though, I don't blame Geo in the least.
And Chauncey's a hermit? That's awesome! First a disabled vampire and now and hermit! I love your originality.

Christ, Chuck," I said. "Can't we just go to a Denny's?"

When Chuck explained what was going to happen to geo - what his choices were - I felt my jaw drop. What? What happened to joining the resistance? Fighting back? Freedom!? And then I realized that, yeah, letting Geo join the resistance would be stupid. The amount of thought you've put into this story just astounds me. It's so entirely unique - I especially loved Chuck's line when he described hiding a twenty dollar bill amongst diamonds.

So, will Geo and Wally go to Chauncey now? Something's telling me that yeah, they're going to Chauncey anyway. Doesn't matter how pointless it would be, since what exactly are their other options? That's my guess, anyway, but I really wanna know for sure!

"Enough throw pillows for a good sized fight." Man, I wish things could be that normal for George and Wally. You've made me feel so tenderly towards them. In most AFF stories, George would suddenly discover he lusts for Wally, and we'd never blink an eye, not because it works as a plot point, but because it's sex and sex is the point.
In your story it's not just a plot point but an excellent motive that kicks in with perfect timing to deepen George. And it is now sexy and sweet. You developed it perfectly.
Wally is such a good-hearted person, I so admire his sympathy for Darlene, his desire to be a knight, his wish to be instrumental in bringing about the victory of Good. I hope he gets to, on some level, in some way.
But I am a huge Jeffrey fan. Jeffrey is magnificant! Having read your story, I can't believe no one ever wrote an Oscar Wilde type of vampire before. He is unique and exciting. Yes, also a callow, enui-ruined, self-infatuated hedonist. But brave, and spirited. So perfect. I hope someday your muse bends you over and knocks you up with a Jeffrey origin story. Maybe a litter of little Jeffrey stories. Is that wrong of me? I think he is evolving, too, kind of reinvigorated by all this. So if you someday wish to to a short about Jeffrey's adventures... Well, you must know it will be well-received.
This latest chapter is amazingly satisfying. It is the clincher on your alternate reality. Vestalier/Chuck's pragmatism has me fully convinced that somewhere there exists a vamipiric states of America in all its feudal horror/glory.
Oh poor George!
At least when all is done, he will have learned something essential about his world. He now knows what teal is.
Oh and a final note: you have an amazing ability to breath life into dust. All your one-scene characters persist in my mind. I think about the woman, the undesirable that George chatted with in Chicago, and I am worried she was damaged that night. She seemed so truly vulnerable, and trying to put a brave face on the situation. She seemed to understand all too well she was brought there as the joke of the evening. Like after all her career achievements, her nice haircut, her learning to dress stylishly, she might still be a joke in the end. Well I hope she gave Jeffrey no satisfaction, and she did not buy into it.
And she is just one of your characters, but they are all so convincing. At this point you have all this behind you, pushing you forward. The story, it's alive! It's alive! And it's no monster. It's a gem.
