Just discovered this wonderful story, just devoured the 13 chapters......Can not wait for the next installment!!
Mason is a brilliant character, on the surface he appears evil (as one reviewer put it), cold and unfeeling but you have subtly revealed that there is more to him than that. As he said before he first slept with Jake, he wants to look after him and give him 'family'. His whole attitude stems from the nature of his 'business' and i'm thinking that he's preparing Jake to take over/share the running of his operation one day. Essentially thanks to his father Jake had to give up the opportunity to make something of himself and was going nowhere before Mason came along. It may not be sunshine and roses but it's better than slogging his way in a dead end job for the rest of his life trying to support his Sister and Mother.
Anyway.... looking forward to seeing what's next. looking forward to seeing Jake develop into the ruthless, kick ass partner Mason see's in him!! (i'm hoping anyway!!)

I feel so sorry for poor Jake and what Mason is doing to him is awful. He's just a meanie and

Mason is one mean S.O.B. and I wish Jake could bash his head in. I hope that Jake can break away from
his evil influence before he gets himself killed or gets arrested and goes to jail. I am sure Mason
wouldn't bail him out either. I really like this story and was happy to see a new chapter up.

Thanks so much, have missed this you and your updates! Love the plot and pacing of the story. Now that I'm re-reading your story again, I love how Chapter 13 is an echo of Chapter 1 - juxtaposing how much Jake has changed/progressed. Looking forward to more of your updates!

Wow... I don't know what to think about this story... It's...heavy... Poor Jake... I so hope his life gets better... it seems so real I don't know if I like it or not and this means your story is damn good becaus not much stories bring this much emotions up in me... Keep up the hard work I can't wait for the next chapter

I am happy to see an update. I have been worried something bad had happened. I was surprised that Mason didn't beat Jake himself but I think he killed two birds with one stone (I'm thinking Marcus is dead). I beg you for an update soon!

Oh my gosh, I always love to read mob stories and this one is brilliant!
I seriously don't know what to think of Mason, I know he's running a business and has to keep control but come on have a heart would ya!
I love Jake but hate what Mason is turning him into wouldn't it be like a last laugh if Jake finally has enough
and kills him by the end of story then ends up with Obi.
I hope Marcus is not dead but have my doubts. I don't like that Jake is turning into a killing machine.
