Wow never thought to find this again. I thought you dropped it. Glad you started it back up again. I remember this from months...maybe years ago!

I really like your title and summary. However, the first chapter was too harsh and makes it difficult to sympathize with the victim. It is just too blunt. Can you consider making the second chapter the first chapter, and maybe you can fit what you have in chapter one (current) into a later chapter after you develop your characters a little more. I rarely critique a story with less than 5 chapters because I like to have some assurance that the author may actually comit to completing it. I also try not to make improvement suggestions because authors do not take it well, generally. I do hope you continue with this story. I would like to find out who the monster is, but I already suspect that the boy's mother knows too much.
