I'm amazed that Ryan let Kylie on the computer...I'm not surprised he watches her like a hawk, she is on it and could send an email home or something. I was surprised when Kylie says that she would rather be in the basement servicing customers than in the nightmare room--it must be dreadful for her to think that.

I wish someone would feed Ryan dog food...bastard!

It's chapters like this that remind me that Kylie is still a child that has been thrust into the world of adults and adult situations. She is naive and childlike but is a hell of a lot stronger than I would be if that had happened to me. At her age, I was raped by a family member and sexually abused over the course of 4 years but if I had been in a child prostitution ring would have killed me (or I would have done it myself).

Despite everything Ryan has done to her, when he is nice to her, she reacts and manages to forget what a beast he really is...until the next time she displeases him and he beats her. This story is so hard to read at times but I like it very much even though I want to cry sometimes.

I am hating Ryan even more than I thought it was possible to hate a fictional character. What a hypocrite! He lets Kylie be raped but comforts her afterward as if a cuddle will make it all better. god, I hate him! Greg is no better either and I hope there a really hot place for them in hell...
