God forbid, what are they teaching these children? I have a mind to smack Caddie in the head. This is just like 1984. Look at your father! A carrier can be better than other men, just losing and gaining certain parts does not change intelligence. Has he not read history? Has he not read about the feminist movement and the other misgivings people used to have about women and some still do. His father is a social scientist surely he knows somethings even if he has never had formal schooling about it. He can use logic, use logic in this.
They even have magazines? I think in 'November' you said that carriers could not read books, yet Caddie is reading Jules Verne, albeit Jules Verne never has a strong female in his books, he is considered to be an intelligent man writing intelligent words. Are they not worried carriers might get ideas.
Phideas needs to do some reteaching. He is an accomplished man, he must be a role model for his son. A CARRIER MUST NOT BE DUMB. That should be the rule of the underground carrier freedom society that might be going on. Good thing Guy didn't ask for a second date. But I have a feeling he will be reappearing again. About the 40%, it seems low. I had thought up to maybe 80% were forced. In hindsight, all the older couple we have seen are quiet happy with each other. But I don't think I want to see a couple who are not happy. They must exist, but they will just break my heart. Adrian is the son of a general. I am surprised he didn't have immunity. Why is the general not doing his fatherly duties and not protecting his spawn?

Would he go off on him too, like he did his dad? :o If Caddy ranted to his dad about that, how would his dad take it? Since he can obviously see a bit more out of the box than Caddy now?

Thank you for the new chapter. I so love this story and I so love Cadmus and Phidias, especially Phidias - he's so sensitive, poor baby! All the sress he's going through, it's heartbreaking - adapting to his life as a carrier and Cadmus in puberty-mode...
It's fascinating how the carriers are pushed/drift more and more into female patterns like being called "Mrs" or wearing make-up - this hadn't been the case some time ago in "November".

I don't really understand the relationships between Adrian, Sean, their parents and step parents... but deliriously happy at the update... Just want to know more about all these people and what will happen to them.

Chapters are too few and far between. Hope Cadmus and his dad can patch things up. Adrian and Sean-too early to tell how that will go. That counselor seemed to be so nice I was hoping that he would take up Phidias....until he made that comment. Oh well. Hope chapter 10 comes up soon. Hate to wait.

and teen angst! gods i remember those days... have a little sister going through those years now.... *sigh* thinks she queen of the f-ing world and everyone is suppose to bow to her will.
i wonder her Phil is going to get with :o and i hope Caddy doesn't turn into a completely stupid zombie that follows what everyone else is doing and then gets hit on/raped and is forced to make up with his dad in one of those awkward ways. *coughcough* X3

What luck is there that once you find a decent man you can't keep him. Maybe Wick will surprise me.
I love the way you have the dates in hospitals for Phideas, makes it blatant. I want to know what training Cadmus receives as a 15 yr. old carrier? Is it much different from the adults? Does he actually receive academic schooling? If he doesn't all these people are doing is degenerating their society like it was even just 1 century earlier. Women could not go to universities. Carriers must become like well trained dogs.
